The Brothers Cuneo are holding their annual iHeartHorror Day event on Saturday, February 1st, at the Active Adult Center, located at 423 Main Street, in Sayreville, New Jersey. The theme is GrounhogZilla due to the event being held on Groundhog Day weekend. Tickets are $15.00 in advance or $20.00 at door. Kids between the ages of 8 and 12 get in for $5.00. Doors open at 10:30am, with the event running from 11:00am until 7:30pm. This is their third year and largest event yet!

Returning to host this year is Psycho Steve ("The Metal Summit"). Joining him this year will be podcaster Dawn Mey ("Hey, All You Rockers Out There"). Some of the activities from the crazed minds of Chris and Greg Cuneo will include a live Zombie Wedding, a Bill Murray Zombie Costume Contest and a live paranormal investigation by Nine Lives Paranormal. To be the lucky couple to be in the Zombie Wedding, you have to win a silent auction and have your best outfits ready to wear. Makeup artists will be there to zombify you. Father Evil will be on hand to marry the lucky couple, which is just for entertainment and not legally binding. As far as the Bill Murray contest goes, just dress up as your favorite Bill Murray character and then make sure he is a walker (to use a "Walking Dead" reference).

There will be vendors, actors, authors, special effects artists, movie screenings and all kinds of characters in attendance. Troma's Toxic Avenger will even there with Sara! A mask making session will be held for children. Some of the guests will also be hosting talks, with question and answer sessions.

Live music will be provided by Colie Brice, Springwood Electric Luau, Black Light Medusa, Mutant Angels, Markus Misery, The Accelerators, Schools Out and Frozen Jaam. Led by Sayreville's own Michael O'Connor, Mikell's Plot will end the night. Consisting of O'Connor (lead vocals), George Rivera (guitar / backing vocals), Pete Mongiello (lead guitar / backing vocals), Cathy Berg (bass / backing vocals) and Eddie "Elf" Piotrowski (drums), Mikell's Plot has shared the stage with Warrant, Great White, Monster Magnet, Powerman 5000, Motorhead, Loudness, Murphy's Law and Candlemass, among others. They have a whole section on their website dedicated to their past members, which was quite a few. Cathy Berg is also a respected drummer within the New Jersey / New York City punk scene. If I had to describe their sound, I would call it a cross between Heavy Metal, Grunge and Punk. Think of Black Sabbath having a baby with Hanoi Rocks. I couldn't get "72 Missed Calls" out of my head after listening to it!
