Park Park Carnival (Part 2)

The "Park Park Carnival" event, which I attended, was a bit different from the simple markets I had in mind. In my previous experiences, simple markets were usually open-air or semi-open-air markets that featured a wide variety of goods, including food, handicrafts, textiles, jewelry, and home goods. They provided a unique shopping and cultural experience, attracting a large number of visitors and shoppers. For example, the simple market at the Sisi Nan Village Holiday Market mostly featured handmade and creative items, along with some specialty desserts or cakes. However, the market I visited at the Park Park Carnival had a different focus, primarily offering international specialty foods and refreshing beverages. The prices were somewhat higher, but still reasonable. I guess this was tailored to fit the carnival's theme. Despite the differences, it still attracted a significant crowd, and it showed that simple markets are not always that simple.
The theme of the Park Park Carnival was "In this era, we can't wait for monkeys to learn to walk slowly. We are born to run!" This theme perfectly resonated with the characteristics of young people—chasing speed, daring to go fast, and having no fear. Surprisingly, even in the scorching summer heat, the seven different stages managed to draw a substantial number of young people. It's a well-known fact that music has a unique power; it can touch hearts and evoke emotions. When performers are on stage, the emotions and energy they convey make people irresistibly drawn to them. So, despite the heat, there were passionate fans at the rock stage. Apart from appreciating the talents and skills of the performers, they also interacted with them. It made me realize the incredible connections and resonances that can occur among people.
However, the weather was just too hot for me to stay in the stage area for too long. I observed that the people gathered in the food area, where I sought refuge, weren't all young people. There were music enthusiasts, young folks, artists, social activists, families, and people interested in local culture and the community. Like me, they all kept their eyes on the stage, and their bodies swayed slowly to the rhythm of the music. The occasional gentle breeze provided some relief from the heat, and I felt a surge of youthful vitality coursing through my body. Such interesting events don't come around all the time, and I'm glad I happened to be at the Taipei Expo Park to experience it. In hindsight, I learned from the news that the renowned rock singer Wu Bai, whom I mentioned earlier, also made an appearance at the Park Park Carnival. He wore a blue and purple floral shirt, grabbed a microphone, and sang along with the entire crowd. His famous hit, "Norwegian Forest," turned the scene into a mini live concert, delighting his fans.
