I Said I Love You First - Selena Gómez & Benny Blanco new ALBUM REVIEW [ENG/ESP]

Selena Gomez's new album with her fiancé producer Benny Blanco has finally been released today. It's been a while since Selena gave us the news that new music was coming and we Selenators are the happiest people in the world. Selena has kept us with music every year but we have always been waiting for an album and today the day finally came.

What surprised me the most honestly was the amount of songs, I thought there would be 10 (but the more the merrier, the truth) among them songs that to the ear may seem calm, relaxing or fun.

El nuevo álbum de Selena Gómez junto a su prometido el productor Benny Blanco ha finalmente sido lanzado el día de hoy. Hace un tiempo ya que Selena nos dio la noticia de que nueva música se aproximaba y los selenators somos los más felices del mundo. Selena cada año nos ha mantenido con música pero siempre andamos en espera de un álbum y hoy finalmente llegó el día.

Lo que más me sorprendió honestamente fue la cantidad de canciones, pensé que serian 10 (pero mientas más mejor, la verdad) entre ellas canciones que al oído pueden parecer tranquilas, relajantes o divertidas.

*Ojos tristes” has been one of the most talked about songs, the artists use the melody of Jeanette's ‘El muchacho de los ojos tristes’ from 1981 composed by the Spaniard Manuel Alejandro. The intention of the song is to narrate the farewell between two lovers.

*Call Me When You Break Up” was the first song we heard from this album earlier this year, we saw a simple music video, just one continuous shot of Selena along with Gracie Abrams singing the song and having fun together.

Ojos Tristes Ha sido una de las canciones que más ha dado de que hablar, los artistas utilizan la melodía de El muchacho de los ojos tristes de Jeanette de 1981 compuesta por el español Manuel Alejandro. La intención de la canción es narrar la despedida entre dos amantes.

Call Me When You Break Up fue la primera canción que conocimos de este álbum a principios de este año, vimos un vídeo musical sencillo, solo una toma continua de Selena junto con Gracie Abrams cantando la canción y divirtiéndose juntas.

Sunset Blvd is so far one of my favorites, including the music video, I could say it's quite sensual and you can tell it has been influenced by a whole eighties theme.

I Can't Get Enough is a song we already know, it was released in 2019 and it's the first time we saw Selena and Benny in the same video.

Sunset Blvd es por el momento una de mis favoritas, incluyendo el vídeo musical, podría decir que es bastante sensual y se nota que ha sido influenciado por toda una temática ochentera.

I Can't Get Enough es una canción que ya conocemos, fue lanzada en 2019 y es la primera vez que vimos en un mismo vídeo a Selena y a Benny.

The whole album takes less than an hour to listen to. If it was what I expected and at the same time not, I like that Selena feels confident enough to work in the music industry again and I'm glad she feels and knows she's not alone. Regardless of what is going on in her life Selena Gomez is an artist that I have admired for as long as I can remember for her talent and I just hope that whatever she does she is happy doing it.

El álbum completo lo escuchas en menos de una hora. Si era lo que esperaba y al mismo tiempo no, me gusta que Selena se sienta lo suficientemente segura para trabajar de nuevo en la industria musical y me alegra que sienta y sepa que no está sola. Más allá de lo que pasa en su vida Selena Gómez es una artistas que he admirado desde que tengo memoria por su talento y solo espero que haga lo que haga sea feliz haciéndolo.
