Welcome back to my blog, guys! Today I bring you my classic review to start the week with energy, after a few weeks without posting it, I decided to resume as always the work.
Today's theme is an album called VENEQUIA by the Venezuelan artist Danny Ocean, which, through music, expressed a very powerful message towards the political-social situation that Venezuela is going through right now and I wanted to do this review to analyze those messages a little bit.
So, without further ado, let's get started!
¡Bienvenidos de nuevo a mi blog, chicos! El día de hoy les traigo mi clásica reseña para empezar la semana con energía, después de unas cuantas semanas sin postearlo, decidí retomar como siempre el trabajo.
La temática del día de hoy es un álbum denominado VENEQUIA del artista venezolano Danny Ocean, el cuál, a través de la música, expresó un mensaje muy poderoso hacia la situación político-social que atraviesa Venezuela en este momento y yo quise hacer esta reseña para analizar un poco esos mensajes.
Así que, sin más que agregar, ¡comencemos!
1.- Por la pequeñaa Venecia
I begin this review with the most iconic and powerful song of the whole album; if we analyze the lyrics in depth, we would be facing a dialogue that Danny Ocean is having with Nicolás Maduro or with the regime as such symbolizing him as a person to talk about everything that has happened over time, how everything has deteriorated since Chavismo came to power, how families have been broken, how almost nothing of what many Venezuelans remember is left in the country.
The phrase “yo te cambio la justicia por la paz” alludes to the fact that, if we could have a way for this government to have a transition, even if we had to forgive many crimes, it would be done, as long as the country gets the long-awaited peace that we have been looking for for a long time.
It is a very strong song to listen to, especially if you live in Venezuela at the moment, but it is a feeling that many people carry in their hearts today.
Comienzo esta reseña con la canción más icónica y poderosa de todo el álbum; si analizamos la letra a profundidad, estaríamos de cara a un diálogo que está llevando Danny Ocean con Nicolás Maduro o con el régimen como tal simbolizándolo como una persona para hablar sobre todo lo que ha sucedido a lo largo del tiempo, el cómo se ha deteriorado todo desde que el chavismo llegó al poder, de cómo las familias se han roto, de como casi nada de lo que recordamos muchos venezolanos queda en el país.
La frase "yo te cambio la justicia por la paz" hace alusión al hecho de que, si pudiéramos tener una forma de que este gobierno tuviera una transición, así hubiera que perdonar muchos crímenes se haría, con tal de que el país consiga la tan ansiada paz que venimos buscando desde hace mucho tiempo.
Es una canción muy fuerte de escuchar, sobretodo si vives en Venezuela en este momento, pero es un sentir que llevamos muchísimas personas hoy en día en el pecho.
2.- Dime Tú
This song is one of the strongest I have heard from Danny Ocean, the interesting thing about it is that he did it a long time ago, that is, it is not unreleased from this album, but its message is still valid, it is a lyric that is dedicated (according to an interview with Danny Ocean) to the moment when the whole situation in Venezuela will change and probably many Venezuelans will return to the country, to wonder who are you going to look for when everything ends, when the long-awaited news comes?
This is another too powerful feeling immersed in a song, because all of us in Venezuela have people outside, many of us have given up loves, jobs, our own future to leave the country looking for new opportunities, now, when all this is over, it will be like starting to live again, it will be a before and an after and really wondering about that should not be too crazy.
Esta canción es una de las más fuertes que he escuchado de Danny Ocean, lo interesante de la misma es que la hizo hace mucho tiempo, es decir, no es inédita de este álbum, pero su mensaje sigue teniendo vigencia, es una letra que va dedicada (según una entrevista realizada a Danny Ocean) al momento en el que toda la situación de Venezuela cambie y probablemente muchos venezolanos regresen al país, a preguntarse ¿a quién vas a buscar cuando todo termine, cuando llegue la tan ansiada noticia?
Este es otro sentimiento demasiado poderoso inmerso en una canción, porque todos en Venezuela tenemos personas afuera, muchos hemos renunciado a amores, a trabajos, a nuestro propio futuro por salir del país buscando nuevas oportunidades, ahora, cuando todo esto se acabe, será como volver a comenzar a vivir, será un antes y un después y realmente preguntarse eso no debería ser muy loco.
3.- Escala en Panamá
I liked this song very much, because it has lyrics as if it were being dedicated to an old couple from whom you had to separate a long time ago due to the fact that you had to migrate, the fact of making a “stopover in Panama” due to the fact that you had to take a plane to separate from the person you love, the chorus saying that if you can meet again after so long to see how you have changed, how life has gone by and how you both have grown up.
It is impressive to think about this but beyond the realm of romantic love, because I have not seen my younger brother for 5 years now, after having lived with him all my life, so literally seeing my younger brother again will be like meeting him again, because I have missed an important part of his life, a stage like his early adulthood, and how I would give anything to see him again and share again as we did years ago.
Esta canción me gustó mmucho, porque tiene una letra como si se la estuviera dedicando a una pareja antigüa de la cual se tuvo que separar hace mucho tiempo por el hecho de tener que migrar, el hecho de hacer una "Escala en Panamá" por el hecho de haber tenido que tomar un avión para separarse de esa persona que amas, el estribillo diciendo que si se pueden reencontrar luego de tanto tiempo para ver cómo han cambiado, cómo ha pasado la vida y cómo ambos han crecido.
Es impresionante el hecho de pensar en esto pero más allá del ámbito del amor romántico, porque yo ya tengo 5 años que no veo a mi hermano menor, luego de haber vivido con él durante toda mi vida, así que, literalmente volver a ver a mi hermano menor será como conocerlo de nuevo, porque me he perdido una parte importante de su vida, una etapa como lo fue su principio de adultez, y cómo daría lo que fuera por volver a verlo y volver a compartir como lo hacíamos hace años.
Bonus Track.- Me Rehuso
This is one of the most iconic songs in the history of Danny Ocean, almost an anthem, that many people in Venezuela know and that its lyrics are very touching, because it was born just in the year 2014, when many Venezuelans began to migrate due to the deepening of the crisis in Venezuela, the terrible quality of life we were having for the time and the inflation that was ravaging the country.
The lyrics talk about the fact of not wanting to say goodbye to someone you love, to save a kiss so that it is not a goodbye but a “see you later”, because they hope to meet again in the distance; this version is much more intimate and more heartfelt than the original, motivated by the context of why it is being re-released, it is a jewel that every Venezuelan will always carry in the spirit kept.
Esta es una de las canciones más icónicas de la historia de Danny Ocean, casi un himno, que muchas personas en Venezuela conocemos y que su letra es muy conmovedora, porque nació justo en el año 2014, cuando empezaron a migrar muchísimos venezolanos a raíz de la profundización de la crisis en Venezuela, de la pésima calidad de vida que estábamos teniendo para la época y de la inflación que hacía estragos en el país.
La letra habla sobre el hecho de no querer decirle adiós a alguien que amas, que te guarde un beso para que no sea una despedida sino un "hasta luego", porque esperan reencontrarse en la distancia; esta versión es mucho más íntima y más sentida que la original, motivado al contexto del porqué se vuelve a relanzar, es una joya que siempre llevará cada venezolano en el espíritu guardada.
