My experience with my red guitar over the years

Esta es mi guitarra marca Peavey, me la obsequiaron hace mas de 12 años cuando aun era un adolescente fanático del punk/rock, la verdad esa guitarra fue toda una revelación para mi, anteriormente había tenido guitarras pero de pésima calidad y aunque esa guitarra no era la mejor de todas si me sirvió para mejorar mi técnica y aprender mucho sobre música en general, la cosa cambió cuando a mediados del 2014 me regalaron una Les Paul y prácticamente hice a un lado a mi peavey, mi Les Paul tenia una mejor calidad de sonido y me servia perfectamente para tocar punk y metal que eran los géneros musicales que practicaba mucho en ese tiempo.

This is my Peavey brand guitar, it was given to me more than 12 years ago when I was still a teenage punk/rock fan, the truth is that guitar was a revelation for me, I had previously had guitars but of poor quality and although that guitar did not It was the best of all if it helped me improve my technique and learn a lot about music in general, things changed when in mid-2014 they gave me a Les Paul and I practically put my Peavey aside, my Les Paul had better quality of sound and it served me perfectly to play punk and metal, which were the musical genres that I practiced a lot at that time.

A mediado del 2016 me mudé a la ciudad y conocí muchas personas nuevas y varias me invitaron a formar parte de bandas de metal, yo estaba emocionado pero lamentablemente mi Les Paul no estaba hecha para géneros tan “pesados” por lo que recurrí a volver a tomar mi vieja guitarra Peavey, hubo un tiempo donde toqué para una banda de death metal y al ser un genero tan pesado usaba afinaciones muy bajas así que tuve que calibrar mi guitarra para poder tocar ese genero en cuestión.

In mid-2016 I moved to the city and met many new people and several invited me to be part of metal bands, I was excited but unfortunately my Les Paul was not made for such “heavy” genres so I resorted to going back to take my old Peavey guitar, there was a time where I played for a death metal band and since it was such a heavy genre I used very low tunings so I had to calibrate my guitar to be able to play that genre in question.

Cuando llegó el 2018 ya había dejado a un lado la música y me había centrado por completo a mis estudios y trabajo por lo que las guitarras prácticamente quedaron guardadas acumulando polvo, varias veces intenté afinar mi guitarra Peavey a su afinación original pero no entendía el porque no lo lograba, siempre se desafinaba y las cuerdas se tensionaban mucho por lo que otra vez volví a guardarla en su estuche y dejarla como reliquia, me había rendido con ella

When 2018 arrived, I had already put music aside and had completely focused on my studies and work, so the guitars were practically stored away collecting dust. Several times I tried to tune my Peavey guitar to its original tuning but I didn't understand why. I couldn't do it, it always went out of tune and the strings became very tense so I put it back in its case again and left it as a relic, I had given up on it.

Este año me propuse a acomodar esa guitarra, le quité todas las cuerdas, desarmé por completo el puente y me puse a ver muchas lecciones de calibración, mi idea era que mi guitarra volviera a tener su afinación estándar, este año fue una total locura, en mis tiempos libres solo se los dedicaba a intentar acomodar mi guitarra pero siempre fallaba y aunque eso me frustraba mucho, jamás me detenía, pero hoy, después de prácticamente muchos años logré regresar mi guitarra a su afinación original y sinceramente no puedo estar mas contento por ello, así que para celebrar conecté la guitarra a mi viejo amplificador y toqué mucho rock n roll por unas cuantas horas, la satisfacción de haber reparado mi guitarra no tiene precio por lo que ahora tengo mi vieja guitarra activa para próximos toques y ensayar con mis amigos.

This year I decided to adjust that guitar, I removed all the strings, I completely disassembled the bridge and I began to watch many calibration lessons, my idea was to get my guitar back to its standard tuning, this year it was total madness, In my free time I only spent trying to adjust my guitar but I always failed and although that frustrated me a lot, it never stopped me, but today, after practically many years I managed to return my guitar to its original tuning and I honestly couldn't be happier. Therefore, so to celebrate I connected the guitar to my old amplifier and played a lot of rock n roll for a few hours, the satisfaction of having repaired my guitar is priceless so now I have my old guitar active for next plays and rehearsing with my friends.
