Cleaning and changing strings on my Patricia guitar.

Mi guitarra acústica me ha acompañado durante casi la mitad de mi vida, no recuerdo el año exacto en que mi padre me la regaló pero debe tener unos 13 o 14 años conmigo, antes le cambiaba las cuerdas con frecuencia ya que me gustaba sacarle el mejor sonido posible, sin embargo, en los últimos años me he descuidado un poco en ese aspecto ya que lamentablemente no suelo usar esa guitarra con la misma frecuencia que antes, las cuerdas que tiene actualmente son viejas, se desafinan con facilidad y los graves suenan opacos, por eso, la semana pasada decidí comprar un juego de cuerdas para cambiarlas después de varios años sin hacerlo.

My acoustic guitar has accompanied me for almost half of my life, I don't remember the exact year my father gave it to me but it must have been with me for about 13 or 14 years, before I changed the strings frequently since I liked to get the best possible sound, however, in recent years I have been a little careless in that aspect since unfortunately I do not usually use that guitar with the same frequency as before, the strings it currently has are old, they go out of tune easily and the bass sounds dull Therefore, last week I decided to buy a set of strings to change them after several years without doing so.

Lo primero que hice fue desmontar las cuerdas para limpiar a fondo la guitarra, con un trapo y un poco de aceite eliminé el polvo y las impurezas hasta dejarla reluciente, luego coloqué las cuerdas nuevas y las afiné con un afinador, al ser cuerdas nuevas tenderán a desafinarse con frecuencia hasta que se estiren por completo.

The first thing I did was disassemble the strings to thoroughly clean the guitar, with a cloth and a little oil I removed the dust and impurities until it was shiny, then I placed the new strings and tuned them with a tuner, as they are new strings they will tend to be detuned frequently until they are fully stretched.

Hacía tanto tiempo que no cambiaba las cuerdas que ya no recordaba lo bien que sonaba mi guitarra, no pude evitar tocar durante un buen rato sin importarme que las cuerdas se desafinaran cada vez que lo hacía, me alegra poder haberle dado ese pequeño regalo a esta guitarra que me ha dado tanta felicidad a lo largo de mi vida. Es mi instrumento musical y objeto más preciado, mi guitarra Patricia.

It had been so long since I changed the strings that I no longer remembered how good my guitar sounded. I couldn't help but play for a long time without caring that the strings went out of tune every time I did it. I'm glad I could have given this little gift to this one. guitar that has given me so much happiness throughout my life. It is my musical instrument and most precious object, my Patricia guitar.
