TTT - Prayers in Blue colored Secrets

It has been a long while since I posted for TTT and that’s majorly because I’ve been listening to the same songs for months now. I don’t know how @tengolotodo always has something new for us each time on TTT - I bet he does a lot of research on YouTube. The man loves his keyboard.

Anyway. It’s been a long while and I would like to welcome those who are reading me for the first time (I don’t usually do this but something tells me someone new is reading this) and also say that TTT is an initiative started by @ablaze, encouraging as many people interested to share their expressions of musics every Tuesday in Three Tunes.

And now that is out of the way, I present you three songs I discovered and came to love recently (one not so recent). Starting with my favorite…

Ultravox - Visions in Blue

I say that old songs are highly underrated and misunderstood. Tengo first posted this song and I haven’t been able to stop listening ever since. I said I would take the time to search out the lyrics and get the meaning, because something about it is downright crazy and eerie.

I was reading the lyrics while listening to this song and fluff if my heart didn’t seize beating for a minute. I’ve always been drawn to the dark. Like moth to a flame, this was no different. I promised myself to write a story to this song. And I will.

Jessie Murph - Pray

Let’s leave her voice for a second. Are you listening to what she is saying? You know, I told a friend that life is more darkness and our purpose of living is to find the light. I got to hear this song for the first time listening to @justfavour playlist.

Jessie spoke about me and so many others who have had to face demons a thousand times. I was fortunate to not succumb to alcoholism or drugs but it doesn’t mean I didn’t hurt myself some other way.

That’s all in the past. Still, I never look down on my experiences or anyone else’s for that matter. I don’t downplay it because that can be hurtful.

And now, back up. Her voice is amazing! When I first heard it, it felt like being pierced. Despite the pain surrounding the sound, I found myself moving my body. That’s crazily contradictory.

Little Mix ft. Jason Derulo - Secret Love Song

You know those characters that can never end up together? Those soul mates who can never, in their lifetime, enjoy each other? Yeah.

I first heard this song thanks to my cousin. She was always listening to it then but I didn’t know. Then one time I saw her trying to subtly wipe away tears. When I asked what was happening she was like,

“Oh God. This song is freaking sad.”

I was confused until I listened to it. And for so many reasons, I avoid listening to this song because it’s that sad. But I’ve listened to it so much in the past week with the sickening realization that some things aren’t just meant to be. Not in this lifetime. Or any.
