ThreeTunes After Almost A Year!
Man how long it’s been since I last did a #threetunestuesday!
I didn’t plan on doing one anytime soon, but reading wongi’s threetune post last week had me in a sharing mood, so here I am.
As I normally do, I’m not going to be picking songs from the same genre, but I’m going to be picking the 3 songs I play on repeat right now most frequently these days.
J Cole – Love Yourz
Cole went to heaven and descended with this song, yall. And it’s not that he spits some too hot bars in it, but the song is just so relatable. The song talks about the beauty in struggle. You think your suffering is unfathomable (if that’s even a word), but if you look around you, other people actually have it worse. The same applies for your happiness. You undermine what you have. Your life.
The prominent message of the song though is that no matter how tough you think your life is, there’s no such thing as a life better yours. So love your(s) life. The song preaches contentment, basically.
NF – Hope
I won’t call myself a fan of NF, but I just seem to like everything of his I hear. I don’t go searching for them, but the ones I come across are good.
Hope just happens to be the latest sauce of his I’ve stumbled upon. And when I say latest, I don’t mean the song is new or that I found it like yesterday. I heard the song through a recommendation from @olujay. Yeah, good one, bro.
This song pumps me up with good juices. It's that I feel invincible song for me.
I don’t want to say what you know already about people who listen to (or relate to) certain musicians’ being some type of way, but NF’s fans are not fine. So how or whyever my buddy found the song, I hope it was by chance.
David Kushner – Daylight
The previous two songs in this collection, I’ve been playing those for like 2-3 weeks now. This one however, I downloaded this week. I’m going to be honest here and say that I actually downloaded this one this week.
There’s something about the singer’s voice I like. I watched the video of the song and in my opinion, the voice doesn’t match how I thought he’d look at all. But the more interesting thing is the different ways different people can relate to the song. It talks about having a complicated love-hate relationship with your desires. In another sense, you can relate to it in the sense of internal conflict between between heart and mind where you’re self-aware of the hazardous nature of pursuing something that’s not healthy for you. It can even be interpreted on a moral front in the sense of loving the pleasure of your sins but hating the sin itself.
I pre-wrote this post last week with complete 3 songs. I made a change to feature this song in this post because even though I just found it, I like it a lot. If you can guess what song I swapped out to fix this one in, 1000 Ecency points are yours. Lol I know that this is almost impossible, but I’m adding it at a little fun thing to play with.

These were really nice tracks. For some time, the "love yourz" song has been crossing my path but just a part of it.
I like the slow-fast progression of Hope. It reminds me of Jon Bellion.
And yaaas! David Kushner doesn't look like his voice (I dunno if that is even correct, but I hope you get the point). I expected him to have a male alto kinda voice. His song is quite relatable tho.
In all this, do you sing? I'm imagining you singing these songs as they are on repeat.

Here’s a hint then. A teeny weeny hint. It’s Jamaican and it’s about keeping going no matter how hard things get. I know that this fits the description of many songs still, but that’s why I said guess. You need both wisdom and luck.😂
A wickedly fun idea I have is to sit and watch people suggest other songs that fit the description I’m giving, then make a collection out of it.💀😂

With our without a headset playing the song along with me? Cos I be rating my singing a 10/10, even 11/10 sometimes when I'm passionate enough and the headset volume is all the way up so I can't hear myself clearly.

Hehe, you have an interesting taste in music, I like it. I enjoyed listening to all these songs. That 3rd song was stuck in my head a couple weeks ago, even added it to my ttt and sang it during city music event.
