El verano se relaciona con alegría, actividad y relajación. Estas asociaciones emocionales reflejan cómo las estaciones del año influyen en el estado anímico humano.

A colación de estas sensaciones, vamos a comprobar como la música, en este caso la voz del artista Black nos lleva a ese mismo estado de relajación. Hemos escogido la carta Rising Star:

Colin Vearncombe más conocido por su nombre artístico Black, fue un cantante y músico británico nacido en Liverpool. “Wonderful Life” es un sencillo del solista británico, del disco homónimo.
1985 fue un año especialmente melancólico para el cantante, causando que éste escribiera una canción clave, irónicamente titulada Wonderful Life. Es una canción cargada de ironía, y que cuando Black la escribió estaba siendo tremendamente sarcástico.
El artista declaró con detalle las desgracias que originaron el tema. Estas son sus declaraciones a la revista británica Uncut:
"Había tenido un par de accidentes de coche, mi madre estaba gravemente enferma, yo había sido despedido de mi compañía discográfica, mi primer matrimonio se había ido a pique y yo era un sin techo. Entonces me senté y escribí esta canción llamada Wonderful life. Así pues, Wonderful life es un título cargado de ironía Yo estaba siendo realmente irónico cuando la escribí". Esa vida maravillosa es la que dio origen al mayor éxito de Black.
La canción fue lanzada en el año 1986 por Ugly Man Records, de manera independiente, y alcanzó el puesto 72 de las listas británicas de mayor éxito.
El tema llamó la atención de la discográfica A&M Records, la cual firmó con Black y su carrera artística despegó. El álbum del mismo nombre, sacado en 1987, cosechó un gran éxito comercial, alcanzando el tercer puesto y el sencillo homónimo el octavo puesto de las listas británicas.
La edición, de agosto de 1987 es la que se conoce hoy y se ha convertido en uno de los temas de referencia de Black.
Este tema ha sido versionado por múltiples artistas en multitud de ocasiones.

El extraordinario vídeo de Wonderful life se rodó en blanco y negro en los alrededores de la costa inglesa de New Brighton y en Wallasey, cerca de la ciudad natal de Black, Liverpool. Incluye imágenes del faro o del paseo marítimo. Fue dirigido por Gerard De Thame y ganó un premio en el Festival de cine de Nueva York en 1988.

When you find yourself playing the Rising Star Game: completing missions, participating in raves, purchasing and reviewing wonderful cards... you enter a true state of abstraction, filling the entire environment with calm and peace, producing a relaxation typical of summer.
In connection with these sensations, let's see how music, in this case the voice of the artist Black, takes us to that same state of relaxation. We have chosen the Rising Star card:

Colin Vearncombe, better known by his stage name Black, was a British singer and musician born in Liverpool. "Wonderful Life" is a single by the British solo artist, from his album of the same name.
1985 was a particularly melancholic year for the singer, prompting him to write a pivotal song, ironically titled Wonderful Life. It's a song laden with irony, and when Black wrote it, he was being tremendously sarcastic.
The artist detailed the misfortunes that led to the song. These are his statements to the British magazine Uncut:
"I'd been in a couple of car accidents, my mother was seriously ill, I'd been fired from my record company, my first marriage had fallen apart, and I was homeless. So I sat down and wrote this song called Wonderful Life. So, Wonderful Life is a title laden with irony. I was being really ironic when I wrote it." That wonderful life is what gave rise to Black's greatest hit.
The song was released independently in 1986 by Ugly Man Records and reached number 72 in the British charts.
The song caught the attention of A&M Records, which signed Black, and her artistic career took off. The album of the same name, released in 1987, was a huge commercial success, reaching number three and the single of the same name reaching number eight in the British charts.
The August 1987 release is the one we know today and has become one of Black's signature songs.
This song has been covered by multiple artists on numerous occasions.

The extraordinary video for "Wonderful Life" was filmed in black and white around the English coast of New Brighton and in Wallasey, near Black's hometown of Liverpool. It includes shots of the lighthouse and the seafront. It was directed by Gerard De Thame and won an award at the 1988 New York Film Festival.
