Hello, my lovely Hivians, welcome to another week in the Afri-tunes community, my name is @deky and I am so glad to be joining in this week’s concert. I will be singing the cover of “You Do This One” by Mercy Chinwo.
Mercy Chinwo is a High-spirited Gospel Musician, songwriter, worship leader and actress, born in Rivers State, in the southern parts of Nigeria on the 5th of September, 1990. Just like a lot of other musicians in Nigeria, Mercy Chinwo started singing in the Church Choir at the early age of six (6). She signed a recording contract with Eezee Concepts and released the single “Excess Love” in the year 2018 this brought more limelight and recognition to her career. She was a one-time contestant in the music show “Nigerian Idol” in its second season in the year 2012, her participation in this music show brought her popularity and fame. This brought her success in her music career and also provided a platform for her to start her career.
The song “You Do This One” is a song of praise to God, acknowledging His goodness in our lives. It is a song of gratitude to God and expresses how God has done so much for the songwriter even beyond imagination. “You do this one oh” is an exclamation of the blessings of God. Only God can do such wonders. It is a reflection of the goodness of God, good so so good and cheerful that even the things that she only dreamt of have come into reality. When she thinks of the love God has shown her, she can only give gratitude to Him.
The song is a clear reality of my life, for all that is happening to me, for all the blessings in my life, for all the love and provision, it can only be God, no man can do all that but God. So I sing this song today in gratitude to God.
