Some really HUGE updates for Defluenced Radio just happened!
I've got some updates that will explain more of whats going on behind the scenes, why I made some changes and some super exciting news to share.
The website
Over on the website I'm trying really hard to keep it as a simple static html site in order to keep it easily accessible for mobile users as well as for people without access to a good internet connection. Plus I want the code to be easily seen for anybody who wants to check and make sure I'm not doing any kind of tracking.
I lowered the default stream from 320kbps to 128kbps. Just to make sure its an easier load time for the lower band width while keeping decent audio quality. I will eventually return to the high quality 320kbps stream for paid subscribers sometime in the future. Of course Hive will be the preferred currency too.
I added a schedule page that will display times when DJ's or special playlists will start & end. Also there is an About page that talks about the goals of Defluenced Radio and a brief back story. The contact page is also started but does not contain anything yet.
The home page is still just the player and currently playing track or DJ's artwork underneath of a brief introductory paragraph. I like it being this simple because when you view it on a phone it's still easy to hit the play button. Because really thats what the focus is on. Play the dang stream. You dont need a bunch of extra stuff to divert your attention.
I even put the full url there for anybody to easily copy & paste it into their favorite media player like VLC to play from there. I'm still planning on putting sting chat from PeakD underneath the player. But I do have to learn a bit more about code to do it, lol. I aren't that smart yet.
I've got another couple of pages I want to add. One is a music/artist submission page for indie musicians. The other is a page listing all the apps and places you can find Defluenced Radio. Yes, you read that right.
It's everywhere you want it to be
You can now find the station on other apps just by searching for it. I have already verified it can be found on the Linux desktop app Shortwave and the android app RadioDroid2. If you have an iphone I'm told you can find it on the Cuterdio. But I do not have an iphone so I can't confirm it. If you do and you can find Defluenced Radio please let me know.
These are made possible by Radio-Browser Info, a community driven effort to collect as many internet radio & tv stations as possible. They put them into a database and make it publicly available. The result is a huge assortment of projects and apps that use their api to make these stations available. You can find the list of known projects and apps that use them here.
To summarize
These are some exciting things I just had to throw out to everybody. Because it's really cool to be able for someone to have the chance to hear someone say "Alexa, play Defluenced Radio" or for someone to hear a Web3 personality talking about #Hive on a live broadcast to their Apple Watch.
Whether you are out for a walk with friends, taking a cross country road trip or making a multiple stop business trip in different countries. You can take Defluenced Radio with you. You dont have to just be in front of the computer or use a browser on your phone.
Web3 isn't coming. It's already here! Let's take it to the masses. So please, tell everybody about Defluenced Radio. Just tune in and help us change the world.
Special thanks to @kencode @r0nd0n, @crimsonclad @mercadomaestro @bambukah and @radiomansradio for all the harassment, encouragement, inspiration, suggestions and guidance over the last year of getting this started. You all are my muse's.

Nice. 128kbs is just fine. Also DAB radios here streams at 128kbs. Well, for good audio experience is better more. Some pros stream in FLAC.
Btw: will you have an embed option in the future? I'm slowly preparing with @bambukah's help of course my old domains ilbis.com and shadowhunters.ilbis.com and I'd love to integrate radio 😃
!DHEDGE
I'm looking into trying to build an embed-able player. It may take a bit but I'll figure it out. Lol.
