Three Tune Tuesday: Summer Vibes No. 2

I was thinking this week about those rare days in San Francisco when the sun actually does come out and summer settles in for a day and a half in the first two-thirds of the summer ... just like these classic tunes, you don't take such days for granted!
San Francisco on that ONE DAY in July and that ONE DAY in August when the sun clears off, and the summer heat and pleasantness breaks through ... or, all of September, in which summer for us begins at the end for everyone else ... that's what this song sounds like for me!
As a child, I was always amazed at how a well-watered flower stayed cool and beautiful in the rare heat of San Francisco ... so it is with the same that I consider this African Flower, given to us through the mind of Duke Ellington ... I can just see the heat ripples, and the flower just rising and swaying in the gentle breeze, like a queen, not wilting, just lovely in the summer of tropical or sub-Saharan West Africa ...
Any summer without Kool and the Gang would indeed be madness ... the classic instrumental complete with three live repeats of the horn intro -- another ultimate SUMMER VIBE!

Oh jeepers, you need to come and live in the West of Ireland for a while!! You would know all about rain, cloud and wind then, ha ha...
I do remember San Fran having lots of fog and cloud cover though the few times I was there during a summer in college when I lived down in the Bay area.. Great memories!!
Liking the tunes by the way, very apt and some good listening, nice one..
Winter here this year -- 15 extraordinarily powerful storms -- gave me enough of that for a good while! By comparison, the summer fogs have been mild.
Glad you're enjoying the tunes ... working on midsummer vibes for next week!
Excellent, looking forward to hearing those..
