Three Tune Tuesday: Bring In the New Year with Thelonious Monk (and Admirers)!

We are two weeks into a New Year -- DEFINITELY enjoy this take on "Worry Later" (also called "San Francisco Holiday," so you KNOW this is the right New Year's jam for ME here) from Wynton Marsalis and band, and keep the message in mind!

I so enjoy the piano playing of Junior Mance, and his takes on Monk's music ... this is no exception to the rule!

I know personally that I wondered at times how I was going to make it into 2024 ... but "Ask Me Now" -- we're here, and I thank God! Monk himself spells it out on the keys, with his wonderfully confident way of working the discordant into his steady stride ... we're here now, and all the paths of the year are open before us, and that is what this piece makes me think of!
