"Ok Boomer" and calling everyone older than themselves "Boomer" is silly, but gotta remember, every generation uses dismissive words to refer to anyone older than themselves. It always reminds me of the Hippie saying "Never trust anyone older than 30", a saying that is funnier now given how the very people who said it look in distrust to anyone younger than 30 these days (or, more likely, younger than 60). How did Gen X refer to older folks...? I think we just called anyone older than us lame and ignored them as much as possible. The real Boomers annoyed as just as much as anything, but we were never a large enough generation to do anything about it. They controlled the culture, so all we could do is watch MTV and make fun of them among ourselves. In that, Gen Z is more confrontational than we were. Being latchkey kids taught us to just be alone and ignore anything we didn't like.
Damn you might be right but it was hard to unite without a common tool like the internet still hippies and punks did it .....
So I guess you're right we were happily ignoring them because we had MTV
