Good memories! Back in the 80s I enjoyed everything until my cousin introduced me to Weird Al. Al may be universally recognized as one of the top talents in the industry today, but as I'm sure you remember, that was all nerd music back then and few of us were brave enough to admit we actually liked it. I loved whenever he would take over MTV for his weird Al TV segments.

Well, obviously I am a big Al fan... I used to listen to Dr Demento and had a lot of whacky favorites like Fish Heads and a funny song called I wanna be a lifeguard. It didn't win me any cool points for sure. Lol! I got my brother into Weird Al as well. Sadly I didn't get to go to one of his concerts till my 40th bday...

Awesome - so you were with him from the beginning too. Great times. I was lucky in that he came to my university to play, giving me the perfect chance to see him. Still one of my favorite concerts that I've been to. I'd love to see him again in concert sometime.

Ah that's really cool. I wish that I had gotten to see him back in the 80s though. Even though he still has an insane amount of energy. That guy really puts on a show!

There was a Weird Al record that just had a huge image of his face on the case. I scared the bejesus out of my mom by putting this up to the window at the side entrance of our house and knocking on the door. I don't think she knew who Weird Al was at the time. She probably still doesn't know who he is.

Haha, nice one. Could have been "Dare to be Stupid". That was the first non-bootleg Weird Al tape that I had. I wore that tape out!
