Vikings Dance in Valhalla (Nordic Soundtrack by Davood Faramarzi)

Good evening my friends, I hope things are well in your parts of the world, and I wish you a good day.

This is a song I composed and produced for a future project by my friend @menati on his YouTube channel. He asked me to create Viking-themed music with a ceremonial feel. Since I already had some ideas in mind, I jumped into quick research to refine my approach. This is something I always do before starting a new project—whether it’s folk music from Europe, America, India, Korea, or anywhere else. I believe that to truly capture the essence of a culture’s traditional music, I need to immerse myself in its mood, structure, and stylistic elements.

That being said, I’m fully aware that real Viking music from that era was quite different. What we recognize today as "Viking music" is a modern interpretation, influenced by the way contemporary musicians and bands create it for films, media, and their own projects. My approach to this track is based on that modern Viking music style rather than historical accuracy.

Once I had a solid foundation, I carefully selected my instruments. It might sound unconventional, but I used an Armenian Duduk VST plugin to replicate the sound of bagpipes. While it’s rare, I discovered that professional duduk players can achieve fast, bagpipe-like melodies, so I recreated this effect in my DAW to shape the ceremonial and dance-driven theme. Alongside the duduk, I introduced modern elements such as double bass violins and acoustic guitars to enrich the arrangement. To maintain the track’s cohesive feel, I also recorded additional melodies on my acoustic guitar, playing similar notes to reinforce the overall mood.

To further enhance the atmosphere, I incorporated deep percussions, war drums, and warrior sound effects, especially towards the ending, to give the composition a powerful and immersive feel. Every element was carefully chosen to evoke the spirit of Viking ceremonies, blending traditional and modern influences into a dynamic and evocative piece.

Thanks for listening to my music, I will be happy to know your feedback.

have a nice day my friends,

Peace & Love!
