REGRESAMOS A LOS ENSAYOS con Gaby Domingo

Comenzamos a ensayar de nuevo porque tenemos un concierto encima y tenemos que prepararnos. Fueron apenas dos semanas de anticipación. Si me preguntan eso es muy poco tiempo para preparar un concierto luego de meses sin ensayar. Sin embargo a lo largo de este concierto me di cuenta de que ya no sabemos las canciones del set. Las hemos tocado tanto que hay una familiaridad que hizo que el set fluyera con facilidad. Sin embargo están pasando cosas nuevas. Yo voy a tocar teclado en un par de canciones del set y eso no se había hecho antes. Entonces tengo que practicar las canciones en el teclado por un lado, y por otro lado debo elegir el banco de sonidos adecuado para cada uno de los temas con antelación. No dio tiempo de hacerlo muy bien para este ensayo. Había un teclado en la sala de ensayo y pude elegir un par de presets en el banco de sonidos de el teclado para solucionar en el momento pero esto no va a ser suficiente para el concierto. Yo estoy pensando en llevarme mi controlador midi y una laptop con varios plugins para hacer el trabajo de esa forma.

We begin to rehearse again because we have a concert on top and we have to prepare. They were just two weeks in advance. Then I have to practice the songs on the keyboard on the one hand, and on the other hand I must choose the sound bank suitable for each of the themes in advance. He did not give time to do very well for this essay. There was a keyboard in the trial room and I could choose a pair of presets in the Sound Bank of the keyboard to solve at the time but this will not be enough for the concert. I am thinking of taking my MIDI controller and a laptop with several plugins to do the job that way.

Se nota que yo tenía tiempo sin tocar porque en la segunda canción del ensayo se me rompió una cuerda de la guitarra. No le dije a nadie para que no se preocuparan dado que el ensayo apenas estaba comenzando. Me las arreglé para tocar con el resto de las cuerdas del instrumento y tener que hacer eso en tiempo real fue interesante. Fue divertido tener que solucionar de esa forma en el ensayo pero evidentemente no desearía que pasara en vivo. Ahora tengo que comprar cuerdas nuevas y eso es un asunto... No sé dónde voy a sacar el dinero. Si estás leyendo esto y tu corazón es muy grande podrías colaborar con un gran like. Cualquier ayuda suma para ver si logro conseguir un paquete de cuerdas antes del próximo ensayo.

It shows that I had time without touching because in the second song of the essay a rope of the guitar was broken. It was fun to have to solve that way in the trial but obviously I would not want to happen live. Now I have to buy new strings and that is an issue ... I don't know where I am going to get the money. Creo que extrañaba tocar con una banda. Fue divertido verles la cara de nuevo a los compañeros y compartir esas dos horas de ensayo. Cualquier actividad que me saque de mi cueva es bienvenida. Además no solo ensayamos sino que habían unas cervezas que llegaron como un regalo desde el Olimpo. Así que hubo ensayo y aparte nos tomamos unas cervecitas y eso estuvo súper chévere. No puedo recordar cuándo fue la última vez que me tomé una cerveza antes de este ensayo. Esa es la cosa de ir a ensayar con gente nunca sabes qué es lo que va a pasar una vez que sales de tu casa. Otra de las cosas que pasaron fue que la cantante me reveló un secreto pero no puedo decir nada al respecto porque se supone que es un secreto y eso es un problema porque ahora lo tengo que guardar yo hubiese sido mejor que no me dijeran nada. Aparentemente sucedió algo que podría ayudar a su carrera exponencialmente y quiso compartirlo conmigo. Aunque bueno no fue la cantante quién lo compartió conmigo realmente. Fue su mamá quien me dio el dato apenas entré al carro porque ella estaba genuinamente emocionada. Pero da igual la cosa es que ahora tengo un secreto entre manos que no le puedo revelar a nadie y tengo la necesidad de gritarlo A los cuatro vientos. No lo voy a hacer. Tampoco lo voy a hacer aquí en este post pero al menos puedo decir que tengo la necesidad de soltarlo y quizás eso me ayude a sentirme mejor.

I think I missed playing with a band. It was fun to see their faces again and share those two hours of trial. Any activity that takes me out of my cave is welcome. We also did not only rehearse but there were some beers that arrived as a gift from the Olympus. So there was a rehearsal and apart we took some beers and that was super cool. I can't remember when it was the last time I had a beer before this trial. That is the thing to go to rehearse with people you never know what will happen once you leave your home. Another of the things that happened was that the singer revealed a secret to me but I cannot say anything about it because it is supposed to be a secret and that is a problem because now I have to keep it I would have been better that they would not tell me anything. Apparently something happened that could help his career exponentially and wanted to share it with me. Although it was not the singer who shared with me really. It was her mother who gave me the data I barely entered the car because she was genuinely excited. But it doesn't matter the thing is that I now have a secret in hand that I cannot reveal to anyone and I have the need to shout at the four winds. I will not do it. I am not going to do it here in this post but I can say that I have the need to release it and maybe that helps me to feel better.

Este fue el primer ensayo que hemos tenido sin el tecladista desde nuestro último concierto y fue interesante el que tuviéramos un músico menos. No me pareció que cambió demasiado la sonoridad de la música pero definitivamente afectó la dinámica del ensayo. Creo que se habló menos durante las horas de ensayo. No voy a decir que estuvo mejor que cuando él estaba solo puedo asegurar que se sintió diferente y bueno tiene sentido. No pretendo asumir el rol del tecladista pero creo que es una oportunidad interesante para jugar con los dos instrumentos en vivo y que esto sea parte del show de la banda si lo hago bien se debería ver genial.

This was the first essay we have had without the keyboardist since our last concert and it was interesting that we had one less musician. I did not seem that the sound of music changed too much but definitely affected the dynamics of the essay. I think there was less talked during rehearsal hours. I'm not going to say that he was better than when he was I can only assure himself that he felt different and good makes sense. I do not intend to assume the role of the keyboardist but I think it is an interesting opportunity to play with the two live instruments and that this is part of the band's show if I do well should be great.

Si estás en Caracas te invito a este concierto para el cual nos estamos preparando. La fecha es el 19 de marzo. Como ya ven no tenemos mucho tiempo para prepararnos pero no importa porque la vida es una y vamos con todo. El concierto va a ser en el centro cultural chacao y el precio de las entradas está en preventa justo ahora así que deberían aprovechar para comprarlas a muy buen precio. Estaremos tocando junto a otros dos proyectos musicales de cantautoras caraqueñas. Uno de estos proyectos se llama mafer vera, que como podrán imaginar es el nombre de la cantante que está al frente de la banda. Ya toqué con ellos en un show que hicimos en un restaurante llamado chapis que queda en chacao y son muy cool. Es un estilo pop con todos los jugueticos. Tiene sus guitarras eléctricas bajos e incluso juegan con sintetizadores. El otro proyecto se llama Ani. De este no sé absolutamente nada jamás los he visto en vivo y tiene sentido porque este concierto será el primer concierto de esta banda. Y Ani toca justo antes que nosotros en la misma sala que nosotros así que van a hacer algo así como la apertura de nuestro show. Ahí tendré la oportunidad de escucharla por primera vez. Luego vendré con información acerca de ellos.

The concert is going to be at the Chacao Cultural Center and the price of tickets is in presale right now so they should take advantage to buy them at a very good price. We will be playing with two other musical projects of Caracas singing. One of these projects is called Mafer Vera, which as they can imagine is the name of the singer who is in charge of the band. I already played with them in a show that we did in a restaurant called Chapis that is in Chacao and they are very cool. It is a pop style with all the toys. It has its low electric guitars and even play with synthesizers. The other project is called Ani. I have not seen them absolutely of this I have seen them live and it makes sense because this concert will be the first concert of this band. And Ani plays just before we in the same room as us so they will do something like the opening of our show. There I will have the opportunity to listen to her for the first time. Then I will come with information about them.
