A Day to Remember: Tengo un problema con el nuevo material || I have a problem with their new material

Bueno, algunas.

I think I have a problem with A Day to Remember's new material. Although, to be honest, I think my problem is with this band's style in general. I like punk rock bands. Well, some of them. And I like some metalcore bands. I think my problem with A Day to Remember is that it doesn't quite commit to either of those styles. Suddenly, punk rock is playing, and some very serious breaks explode, then it goes into punk rock with mega-pop melodies. Mind you, I have nothing against pop melodies within a metalcore song. In fact, that's probably one of the great appeals of this genre. After some heartbreaking gutturals, the clean vocals fall, creating melodies worthy of Justin Bieber. My problem isn't that; my problem is that A Day to Remember's sound doesn't quite commit to either punk rock or metalcore, and ends up being a rather inconsistent mix of the two. That might be fine for some, and I'm not judging them; this is just a completely personal opinion. If One Day to Remember made a completely metalcore song, I'm 100% sure that song would be incredible. Because they understand the genre, and every time they add a metacore segment, they do it very well. And I'm sure if they wanted to make a Sum 41-style punk rock, I'd happily listen to it from start to finish. But as long as they keep releasing these weird hybrids, I don't think I'm that much of a fan. The production on this album is brutal, and nothing and no one can take that away from them. And they know what they're doing, it's just not my style.
