Emerald Rose - Queen of Argyle - Megacon 2012

Emerald Rose performs 'Queen of Argyle' at Megacon 2012 in Orlando, Florida. (2012-02-18)



Emerald Rose, which formed in 1996, was one of the top Celtic Folk Rock bands in the Southeast U.S. They have performed all over the U.S. and in Ireland and they typically feature a mix of unique interpretations of traditional Irish folk songs as well as original music which is occasionally more filkish than folkish. They performed at MegaCon in Orlando a few different years which is where the video above is from. They were even headliners for the Lord of the Rings Oscar parties in Hollywood in 2003 and 2004. Alas, the band is no more. They had their final live show last October. Band members included Arthur Hinds, Brian "Logan" Sullivan, Larry Morris and Clyde Gilbert.



Though Queen of Argyle is not one of their original songs (it was originally done by a band called Silly Wizard) this is the song that first attracted me to Emerald Rose and is still one of my favorites.
