It’s So Nice - Original Jazz/Swing Music from Danaidh B on @HiveMusic for Hive Open Mic Week 155!

Hello there #hiveopenmic and a big hello to all the musicians out there around the world - singing for peace, love, and the love of music in our DNA!!!

My name is ‘Danaidh B’ or ‘Danny’ for all of those who may have wondered how it is said. It is the Scottish Gaelic spelling of my name ‘Danny’ which is short for ‘Daniel’.

I was named after “Daniel in the Lions Den” from the bible ((which I must say some of my life has felt like a Lions Den, and Babylon has tricked me over the years into guilt and punishment))… but anyway!! :) here I am with a heart of a lion 🦁!! Singing to You!!! My Original Song - “It’s So Nice”

My mum lived in a church residence at 16 years old after being kicked out by my grandparents to find a job!! She then joined the church choir and sang for many years.

“I quite like choral music and enjoy a hymn or two!” Although my styles and genres do vary and fuse quite a lot! I have no genre, just songs and music I love that are inspired from years of exposure to many kinds of different music.

About the song: This song is about love, relationships, and the love of family. One day we were out just me, my partner Georgia, our middle child Julia and we had a great day, one to remember.
I learned some jazz chords shortly after that day and quickly managed to construct a good walking bass flow with the difficult jazz chords, but fairly easy progression.

At the time I wrote the song my daughter was about 4/5 years old.

I enjoy singing this one.. ‘Its so nice’ to sing :) but I can also nicely relate the words to my partner and I, she likes to harmonise on it, but unfortunately she had a wisdom tooth out yesterday and our baby is clingy!!!
So she is not on this recording.
We have 3 CrAzY children, 12, 8 and 10 months! First two are girls and the littlest a boy :)
