Usually, the playlists that I create are #edm only. I still listen to other types of music sometimes, but usually it's some sort of electronic music like dubstep, phonk, riddim, or many of the other sub-genres.

Today things will be a bit different. I have taken the time to precisely put together what I feel is one of the best rap playlists ever. There isn't a huge variety of artists, but I think you'll find that the sound still varies a lot.

I have chosen to stick with my favorite artists from the grand city of New York, more specifically, Brooklyn, NY.

I'm talking about artists such as Flatbush Zombies, Meechy Darko, Zombie Juice, Erick the Architect, Beast Coast, The Underachievers, Issa Gold, Joey Bada$$, Kirk Knight, Nyck Caution, CJ Fly, and Powers Pleasant.

If you haven't heard of any of these guys, you are in for a treat. These are some of the most elite levels of lyricism that exist in the rap world. I wouldn't consider this music mainstream, but it definitely has a rather large cult following.

All of these artists have such a large catalog of music, so it was extremely difficult for me to narrow it down to just 27 songs and about 90 minutes of smooth listening. The major plus to all of this is the fact that there isn't one bad song on this playlist. Every single one is great and there is a variety of different styles at play.

If you love rap music, you 100% have to listen to this playlist from start to finish. I promise it will not be a waste of time. You may have to follow along with the lyrics, which Spotify provides for most of the songs, or you can just look them up. The wordplay is on another level. I still like some West Coast hip hop like Kid Ink, YG, Tyga, and Ty Dolla $ign. When it comes down to where the greatest rappers reside, I stand firm in my decision that it is without a doubt NYC. Maybe it is my experience of listening to 50 Cent and G-Unit so much at a very young age. These guys just have the juice.
