Session: Skate Sim gameplay and first impressions
For real skaters only 🛹🤕
Another new addition to the PS Plus game catalog for January 2024 is none other than the hyperrealistic skateboarding game Sessions: Skate Sim.
Session is a skateboarding simulation game developed by crea-ture Studios Inc. Released in 2019, it gained recognition for its realistic approach to skateboarding mechanics and its dedication to capturing the essence of the skateboarding culture. As a skateboarding simulation, Session aims to provide players with an authentic and challenging experience that mirrors the intricacies of real-life skateboarding.
One of the defining features of Session is its unique control system, which separates the foot controls, allowing players to independently manipulate each foot for a more realistic and nuanced skateboarding experience. This system has been lauded for providing a steep learning curve, offering a sense of accomplishment as players gradually master the intricacies of performing various tricks. The game also emphasizes the importance of weight distribution and balance, factors that are crucial in real-world skateboarding.
The game's open-world environment, inspired by iconic skateboarding locations, serves as an expansive playground for players to explore and perform tricks. The realistic physics and attention to detail in the game's world contribute to its immersive atmosphere. Session captures the creativity and freedom inherent in skateboarding, allowing players to express themselves through their tricks and lines as they navigate the urban landscapes.
Session has established itself as a go-to title for skateboarding enthusiasts who seek a more true-to-life representation of the sport in a video game. With its commitment to authenticity, challenging gameplay mechanics, and a supportive community of players, Session stands out as a notable addition to the skateboarding simulation genre.
With all of that said, I straight up did not like this game one bit. The on positive thing I can say about it is that the music is fantastic. Otherwise, I sucked so badly at it that it made me miserable to play.
I love Tony Hawk games, but Session is nothing like Tony Hawk. It's more like the other skateboarding game from back in the day called Skate. Even though Session is similar to Skate, Session is much more difficult than I remember Skate being. Proceed to this game with caution.
Now let's jump into the video so you can watch me fail miserably at Session: Skate Sim.
Thanks for watching and be sure to drop any comments you may have down below, I will get back to everyone.

I remember some level of praise for what this going to offer in freeform gameplay thanks to the control scheme...but yeah, I can guess just from that that it is quite the difficulty curve to wrap your head around the unusual setup. Kind of reminds me of the difference between strict racing sims and arcade racers when talking about how you are supposed to drive and drift.
But I have to admit that the 10:25 moment with the sudden slow ragdoll and appropriate reaction to it had me rolling 😂
I was expecting something close to Skate 3, but this is really quite different... And difficult haha
Seran como los juegos de Tony Hawk
The name of this game is very interesting and I will try to play it and share my experience with everyone.
