Three Tune Tuesday!

This is my first Three Tunes Tuesday post, an idea started by @ablaze Pretty cool idea for sure. It's always weird and sort of uncomfortable to share music tastes, because I do listen to some weird music. But I've been tempted to make one, because I think I've noticed the posts on my feed more, maybe? I'm probably just nuts.

Anyway, my relationship with music through my life has been interesting. My mom liked practically only one single musician. Bruce Springsteen. I even went to a concert with her once. I know likely at least eighty percent of his songs word for word. I have no idea why she liked him so much. He's not bad, but she was like a superfan. But hey, everyone has their tastes.

My sister also was a pretty big influence on some of my music tastes. Always playing the radio throughout the very late 90's and early 2000's. A lot of pop from that era. R&B, hip-hop. Usher for days. Boy bands for days. Britney Spears. Surprising amount of country mixed in too.

My brother was a lot of rap, rock, and country as he got older.

I've been told my dad enjoyed ZZTop and the Beatles and I think the Beach Boys? Hard to recall.

In third grade it was mandatory to play keyboard, which is basically the piano. We were given books to sort of 'beat'. We would practice throughout the week, it was like a game to us. Each week the music teacher would come to each class and test us to see how many songs we mastered I guess you could say. It was always a good brag to say what song you were on. It was a bigger flex to say which book you were on. If you were several books deep, you were basically considered cool or smart or something LOL. I remember beating that first book. I had to play 'Ode To Joy' in the final song. I remember beating it, I felt so accomplished, like a million bucks.

That was one of the best aspects of school for me, ever. Learning the keyboard. I wish I could have kept learning the piano. None of that in fourth grade. Maybe I'll try again someday.

Anyway, music is pretty dope. Here's my songs I've randomly chosen.

Freddie Dredd is one of my favorite rappers out right now as crazy as that might sound. This song is not exactly lyrically fantastic but it's not trying to be ya know? It's repetitive and his cadence/energy is sort of just simply confident.

Then, there is the sweet beat. Hypnotic, smooth, soothing in my humble opinion.

Apparently this song has been in games and/or movies? I just happened upon it on YouTube a year or two ago. Instantly became one of my favorite songs ever. Feels like a language I almost understand is being spoken. A lot of emotion. Trying to really describe this song could take awhile. I could listen to it everyday. Maybe I should. Just outstanding.

The final song I have sort of randomly chosen, by Yeat. Not much to say here man. I know everyone hates mumble rap. I don't like a lot of it either. I just like the song ok LOL. Plus, this one is not really what you might expect.

Felt pretty cool to ramble about music. Hope someone enjoys or is at least intrigued. I'll have to check out some other music that used the hashtag. Will try to do this again next week hopefully!

I'm not sure about the Beach Boys but yes it is isn't it LOL. I know ZZTop and the Beatles for sure. I only remember what I've been told since he unfortunately passed before we could jam together.

Nice to meet you and thanks for the welcome! Glad you enjoyed the song! There seems to be a good variety of music shared on Three Tune Tuesday. Will try to be more involved :) Noticed you're from Delaware that's neat, I'm from PA! Lol.

Welcome along my friend, I can tell right off the bat, that you will fit right in, especially given the great mix and balance to your choice of songs this week, Max Richter's one is a masterpiece, just so beautiful. I picture good things while I listen to it, like a time lapse video of my children growing and learning or a tree growing in my garden, it is very very uplifting, a song everyone should hear at least once.
