Three Games, Three Tracks - Pt. 3
Chess continues to be incredibly challenging. Progress is slow, sometimes I highly doubt I'm progressing at all. But that's something I'm ok with. If I do improve, these early stages will be fun and interesting to look back on. It's all about the journey I guess is what I'm saying. Chess is just the ultimate stress ball for your brain. When I look at it that way, winning or losing becomes mostly irrelevant. I definitely try to win of course, and there's definitely times where I get very upset at close losses but, for the most part chess has been a great stress reliever. It gives my brain a break, and distracts it well. It gives my brain different things to stress about for a bit. Instead of bills, for a few minutes I'm worried about knights.
Today's three tracks come from one of my favorite artists and mixtapes. Rapper Childish Gambino's 'Culdesac' mixtape. I haven't listened to Gambino in awhile honestly. Maybe I should revisit him soon. I saw him in concert in Philadelphia in 2014 I believe? Good times. Around that time anyway. 'Culdesac' came out in summer of 2010, can't believe it's been 15 years! Nostalgia is just off the charts.
This song 'I Be On That' brings me back instantly. It feels energetic and slightly ambitious. Something that could definitely be played while looking out of a castle perhaps, plotting maybe?
His song 'The Last' might be my favorite on this whole mixtape. He really speaks from the heart in this one.
This song called 'Difference' is a classic, I could potentially see this one playing in a pizza shop late at night like this.
Childish Gambino is a legend and this mixtape is a classic. 15 years old is just unbelievable to me. I highly suggest giving the whole project a listen.
Here's what I'm listening to before I go to bed. A good old 'Are You Garbage' podcast episode.
Glad to keep the series going. Gotta be up early tomorrow for work.
