Different characters towards birthday celebrations

Yesterday morning, one of my siblings, a male, sent me some photos of himself, saying his birthday is in four days and that I should save the photos to post on my social media timeline when the day comes. I didn’t argue with him because I'm very fond of him. I wished him a happy birthday in advance.

The People Who Let Friends and Family Find Out By Themselves:

This is my category. I find it very awkward to start announcing my birthday to people so they can arrange gifts or organize a party for me. I prefer when the people around me—friends and family—find out on their own. This discovery can come in different ways. You know, social media these days have a feature that reminds us about our friends’ birthdays, usually early in the morning. So yes, I let my friends and family get the notification spontaneously and let them do whatever they want to celebrate the day. Not even my partner—I let her find out on her own.

The People Who Post Countdowns to Their Birthday:

These are mostly the social media types who love getting massive attention on their birthdays. They start posting a countdown about their birthday from as early as 20 days out. These people hype it up as if the birthday will be held in a stadium with everyone in the world in attendance. It's all fun, and I'm not criticizing because we should all do what brings us joy.

I have many of these people on my social media friend list, and when they start posting, I know how to skip many of those posts, only to appear on the main day to wish them a "happy birthday."

The Ones Who Post, Post, and Post on the Day:

These people don’t sleep the night before their birthday. They make sure they stay awake until 12:00 a.m. and post an announcement at exactly 12:00 a.m., letting the world know it's their birthday. If they post even a minute before or after midnight, they feel like they've disobeyed the "God of Birthdays."
These people don’t stop there; they go on to paint every corner of their social media account with their birthday photos. They also check their friends' timelines to see if they were posted without tagging them, and if they notice something like that, they quickly tag themselves so the post will reflect on their own timeline.
These are the type who send photos to friends and family on social media days before their birthday. They don’t stop there—they monitor the accounts of their friends and family, and if anyone they sent photos to doesn’t post, it can lead to malice and enmity until the friends come begging for forgiveness.
