Vegan eggnog for Christmas! 🎄✨
What drink makes you instantly think of Christmas?
Yes, people have hot wine, hot chocolate, cacao, etc. during this time... But I would say that eggnog also has a special place here. If I had to tell when do people drink eggnog, I would definitely say during Christmas 😁However, this drink is made of eggs and milk products so it doesn't look very pleasing to consume. But since the taste of it fits perfectly for Christmas (because of the spices combination such as nutmeg, vanilla) I really wanted to try out a vegan version of this drink.

Best, Most Unique Way to Experience the Hawaiian Islands
Wake up early, grab a coffee, and head to the top deck to enjoy a view like this.
Do you want to just be bumming it at your hotel beach and see less than 1% of what Hawaii does to offer? Or do you want to see the places that only 1% of visitors see and experience? There is a little known way to do this while visiting the Hawaiian Islands, and only a small number of open spots. Read on if you are thinking about heading to Hawaii but want an adventure instead of a vacation. And don't get me wrong, this is a very comfortable, pampered way of traveling as you are very well taken care of, but the adventure remains!

Everything is medicine, including old photographs...
I'm sharing these photos and this post here, as a genuine attempt to speak to everything as medicine - which in turn makes it natural medicine; the above snap was taken as I was painting directly with my hands on the wall of my studio space in the Glasgow School of Art - probably in 1994. I was around 20 years old, and I am now precisely 50 years since my co-creative conception: a lot has happened in my life since then, and I'm able to look back on that time with new eyes, as to the burden I was carrying - I can see now that I was primed and tense with chaos, and was using my creative energy, though expressively, as a means of wrestling with the system (via art institution and living in the city for the first time: very ungrounded and reactionary).

Hive Open Mic #141 - Warm this Winter (Gabriella Cilmi/Connie Francis)
For this week's theme "Winter" I was tempted to post the obvious choice, a Christmas song, but instead I'd like to share a song originally released in 1962 by Connie Francis. I got to know it when Gabriella Cilmi released a remake in 2008, which I instantly liked for its airy sound. I used to play it on guitar a fair bit, but thought it might transfer to the piano quite nicely too.
Here in the East of England we had unusually low temperatures down to -10 °C, together with some snow for some time, I'm sure some areas were even lower, but I'm certain it was a surprise for many.

The Christmas tree fairy.
Mr. Johnson insisted on staying at the entrance of the ICU even though he was told to stay at the reception. He had to rush to the hospital from work after he got the call from Stephanie's school and none of what the teachers said made any sense to him.
He kept asking, "How could she just slump while playing at school?".
He lost his wife to illness a few years ago and he has taken up the responsibility of their daughter since then.

One year in the Hive
I wanted to make a post for a while about my photos of sewing processes. With all the photos that I took and really like, but that didn’t make it into any previous posts. What better occasion than to do it now.
After one year in the Hive. 🐝How do you feel at the end of a year?
Do you feel overwhelmed and grateful over all the things that happened? Or is it regret; you could have done so much more?

A review of "Silence": A wonderful movie about culture, religion and superbia
Silence is a movie about a confrontation between ideologies, schools of thinking, and cultures, each of which attempts to impose itself from the outside without showing any genuine curiosity or openness towards the other, in addition to the personal narrative of a man in faith. There is violence on both sides. The introduction of a foreign system of thought under the pretense that it is preferable is always an abuse with grave repercussions, regardless of the good intentions, the depth of conviction that they are carrying out God's will by saving souls from damnation, or the palpable comfort that the Christian religion appears to give to the people of the coastal villages with which the two young Jesuits come into contact.
