Ili-Likha: A Surreal Haven of Art and Imagination in Baguio
If you give an artist the space and freedom to create without boundaries, it can result in something like Ili-Likha!
Ili-Likha is a place in Baguio City that I visited a few days ago during a short trip to the Philippines. Though the trip was brief, it was meaningful because I discovered the amazing things the city has to offer.
Ili-Likha is unlike any other place I have visited in my life—it was an eye-opening experience that showcased what an artist’s hands can create. It’s incredible to think that one person’s vision can bring something so otherworldly to life.
The visit to Ili-Likha was completely unplanned. I just happened to see a vlogger visit the place for its vegetarian food, and although I’m not into vegetarian cuisine, it was clear that the place was worth checking out. So, we squeezed it into our itinerary—and I’m so glad we did. I was literally at a loss for words as I walked through the labyrinth-like structure of the place.
From the outside, it looks like a simple treehouse built using scrap materials. Unlike a typical building, it has no defined corners, and there is no specific orientation to its design. Its artistic appearance gives the impression that it was crafted entirely by hand, without the use of any engineering tools—which makes it even more fascinating!
As we entered the building, it opened up to a world unlike anything I had ever seen before. It’s something I can’t compare to any other place I’ve visited so far. I’ve been to antique stores and art museums, but I have never seen or felt anything quite like what I experienced at Ili-Likha. It’s amazing how a single artist could envision and build something so unique, unlike anything else.
Ili-Likha is a place that continues to evolve. In fact, the construction of the building is still ongoing. Some areas are currently under construction, showing that it is still expanding right up to the edges of the property.
There are also accessories and souvenir shops inside the Ili-Likha, and here are the items that I found to be interesting 😁.
At the far back of the property stands a traditional house called Fal-E. This unique structure, found in the Mountain Province, was designed to shelter a family.
Its steeply pitched roof prevents pine needles from accumulating, while the house is elevated on stilts to keep wild animals from entering. The open space beneath the house serves as both a resting area and a place for cooking. Additionally, discs are placed on the upper part of the pillars to prevent rats from climbing up. It’s an ingenious design—and a beautiful one as well.
Ili-Likha is more than just a place—it’s a testament to the boundless creativity of an artist’s vision. Walking through its spaces felt like stepping into a dream, where art and nature seamlessly blend. If you ever find yourself in Baguio, don’t miss the chance to experience this one-of-a-kind masterpiece.

This narration took me to a completely different world! While reading Ili-Likha's handmade labyrinth, its design that integrates with nature and its constantly evolving structure, I felt as if I was there. ✨I especially admired the details of the Fal-E house: The roof that blocks the pine needles, the architecture rising on stilts... The ability of man to adapt to nature and the limitlessness of art is breathtaking! 🎨 Such places are proof of what an artist can create when left free. If I'm ever in Baguio, this will be the first address I will visit. Thank you for sharing this discovery with us!

Thanks for the nice comment.
It was an amazing experience to visit this place. I just hope that more artists will have this opportunity to showcase their creativity and turn it into a place where people can literally walk into their artwork.

I highly recommend visiting ili-likha, it's located along assumption road but very near to session road the city center 👍
Benguet is my hometown but I haven't been here yet! I promise someday. :)
Please do visit ili-likha. It's a great place and it's also free 😲
Is this a pirates of the Caribbean location???😍😍 Look so cool we have a similar place here in Tuscany but inspired on tarots by the way seems to be in a fantasy movie scenario, I love it.
Haha I know right! Felt like a movie scene 😮
This is something I really like. Full of creativity based on what is the surrounding.
Yeah, that amazes me more thinking that they are able to build it even with all the trees around 😁
Wow, this place has a very different aura. It's like the stone age. There are sculptures, wooden structures and interesting jewelry. I especially love the structure of the stairs, it reminds me of the past since I grew up in a village 😂😂
I was speechless seeing every aspect of the building. It's insane how they manage to put everything together 😄
The place is very nice .Full of art ❤️
A masterpiece ✨😁
This place is a good example of creativity and everything is kept so well.
Yeah 👍 totally agree. It may seem chaotic but it was maintained well that it feels neat 😊
Wow!This sounds unbelievably good.Your description of Ili-Likha as a "surreal haven" paints an appropriate picture. The accidental discovery makes it even more special.I find it fascinating that it still is evolving in its own labyrinthine ways. The Fal-E house seems just as amazing, what a fantastic design! This has gone upon my bucket list if I make it to Baguio one day. Thanks for sharing your unique experience!
That's good! Ili-Likha is easy to find since it's along Assumption road and very close to Session road.
Best time to visit Baguio is during summer 🌞

Feels like Iam in Baguio too
😁, hopefully you'll visit this place once you visit Baguio!
Looks like a scene from a fictional movie!
Amazing place! I hope you had a nice time!
I thought so too. It's bizarre 😁
Wow, such a magical little place. It reminds me of an epic tree house, maybe something Peter Pan may call home. Thank you for sharing!
Ah that's a good reference! Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I like Peter Pan as a kid 😁
The place is so unusual, yet it could be presented to the whole universe 🙌. The art screamed 'limitless' and 'unique' . I bet the artist itself is loud and proud from what he created. A perfect architecture from a perfect perspective of mind! Who would've thought that a building covered with scrap materials and weeds could have such a beautiful and unusual interior? Now I get it when they say that real gem is hidden 🤧. I went to Baguio with my friends but we never talked of visiting and exploring hidden places like this, huhu. Maybe the most expensive arts are the least to talked about! But I'm looking forward to visit this place and find more like this 💖. Thanks for sharing 🙌.
I couldn't agree more. That's why I like discovering places like Ili-Likha that deserves more attention because of its uniqueness and artistic value.
I highly recommend you to visit this place once you revisit Baguio. It's worth it 😁
Wow, that is very interesting! My last visit to Baguio was a long time ago! It's good that you visit the Philippiones.
Those trinkets are wonderful.
It was a great experience visiting Baguio and I would highly recommend this place to visit :)
looks unique and mystical, like blending in with nature. Suitable as a filming location, but I think it's more suitable for a horror film.
I agree 😁 but not the horror film part. It may seem scary but it's actually very pleasant inside the building 😄
