Ozzy Osbourne dies at 76
It's the end of an era... Ozzy Osbourne, the rock and heavy metal icon turned reality show star, has died at 76, according to his family.
The family put out the following message
“It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning,” his family said in a statement signed by wife Sharon Osbourne and their children Kelly, Jack, Aimee, as well as his son Louis from his prior marriage to Thelma Riley. “He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time.”
As I sit here writing this post with Crazy Train playing in the background I find me self with a sense of nostalgia since I was obsessed with Black Sabbath in high school. I have not kept up with Ozzy's lately, but I know he lived with Parkinson’s disease. Earlier this month Osbourne played what was dubbed his “final bow” from a throne at Villa Park in the U.K. It was that show that people realized his time was near, but I don't think people realized it would be this soon.
Ozzy's Life
Born John Michael Osbourne, the English musician rose to fame as the so-called Prince of Darkness with his heavy metal band, Black Sabbath, which he co-founded in 1968. The band released popular hits like “Paranoid,” “Iron Man” and “War Pigs.”
I forget that War Pigs was one of my favorite songs until I started writing this so please pay your respect with a listen!
After his 1979 departure from the band due to substance abuse issues, Osbourne launched a successful solo career beginning with 1980’s Blizzard of Ozz, which featured his hit track “Crazy Train.” Osbourne became widely known for his wild onstage persona, including infamously biting the head off a bat during a 1982 concert. (He later got a rabies shot.) He went on to release 13 studio albums and was inducted twice into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame — in 2006, with Black Sabbath, and again in 2024 as a solo artist. He also became a reality TV show star along side his family, which documented the chaotic and often hilarious home life he shared with wife Sharon and their children. He announced he had been previously diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease,
He will live on through his music and as they say the legend never dies so let's all jump on that Crazy Train!

He for sure was a great artist who will be remembered, and as you say will live through his music
May he rest in peace
Besides the big hits I honestly don't know how much I have ever actually listened to Black Sabbath. I have a friend who is a big fan though and he is the one that texted me yesterday to let me know that he had passed.
I have not listen to them in a while but in high school I thought I was cool because I was only into classic rock for a bit while everyone else was into 2000 pop lol.
:) That sounds like a smart decision. I don't feel like 2000 pop was that great!
May he rest in peace
What a painful death
He will be greatly missed
He is a legend
