Tropical Ska with Desorden Público 40s for this #ttt

DesordenPublicoBogotaJul2025.jpg

Hello, Hivers and Music lovers!

It's music sharing day at Hive thanks to #threetunetuesday. I haven't posted for a few weeks now, because of RL stuff and also because of a lot of dispersion on my part lately ;) but this Tuesday I have no excuses for not joining the #threetunetuesday since last weekend we went to the concert in Bogotá of the Venezuelan band Desorden Público. They are celebrating their 40 years of career with a tour in some Spanish speaking countries.

The funny thing is that last week I saw that @nancybriti1 did a #ttt post about Desorden Público and I thought Wow!!! It's been years since I've listened to them. And the next day, a friend of my husband who is here in Bogotá called, inviting us to the concert of Desorden Público for their 40th anniversary.

Desorden Público was one of the bands that emerged in Venezuela in the mid-80s, along with others of the time like Sentimiento Muerto and Zapato 3. They started playing in a miniteca parties (small mobile discoteques), the day of the concert, they mentioned the miniteca was called Aseo Urbano. Desorden Público, with their unique style and taking Ska as their rhythm, became very well known. They have a unique style as they added tropical elements to their music, creating a contagious sound with what they called Tropical Ska.

Desorden Público continued with their career over the years, and although they are mostly known in Venezuela, their music has some followers on the continent.

For this ttt, I am going to share three songs from their first album. Perhaps the songs are not the best known of the band, but they are the ones that took me down memory lane when hearing them live last weekend.

But before I get into the tunes, let me give you a little background if you are new to Hive and aren't familiar with #threetunetuesday. In the words of @ablaze who initiate it:

The jist is as follows
Every Tuesday I'm going to share 3 songs which I like to listen to and I invite your feedback in the comments below. Better still, why not have a blast of your own Three Tune Tuesday and mention me in the post and I'll come and find the post and upvote it. If you could also use #threetunetuesday tag that would be great, as that is what I use when sifting through all the entries every Wednesday. It'll be a sweet way for us all to discover new music. You'll also be in with a chance of winning the prize - more on that later.

You can find out more at [https://peakd.com/@ablaze/gym-shuffle-iv-for-three-tune-tuesday-week-215-win-6-hbi) with his recommendations for this week the #215 of the initiative.

Don't forget to support @ablaze's and if you would like to become a sponsor of #ttt like me, give him a shout out.

And now without further ado, let's go with my tunes for this week.

Tune 1 - Desorden Público - Zapatos Resbalosos

Back in the late 80s, I heard them for the first time with Zapatos Resbalosos. And don't tell me that listening to it doesn't make you start dancing.

Tune 2 - Desorden Público - Esto es Ska

Of course, speaking of Ska, I couldn't leave out the song Esto es Ska.

Esto es Ska y si no te gusta te vas ...

This is Ska, and if you don't like it, you get out ...

Tune 3 - Desorden Público - Skapate

The third song Skapate makes a play on words in its title with Ska and the word Escapate. The lyrics are quite funny.

After that first album, the band incorporated many current political and social issues with a satirical tone to the lyrics of their songs.

And I can't close the post without a bonus.

Bonus Tune - Desorden Público - Allá Cayó

Allá Cayó is perhaps Desorden Público's best-known song. This song is from the late 90s, and the video I share with you is the original from that time.

It was very fun to go to the concert, and see that even though a lot of years have passed, not only do they keep jumping and dancing and making a Desorden. But also, WE (the hubby and I) can still spend two and a half hours singing, dancing, and jumping to their songs, hehe.

Are you a ska lover? Have you listened to Desorden Público before?
If you liked the songs, which one did you like the most? Tell me in the comments.

Thank you very much for reading!

Enjoy the music, and enjoy life!

Omg, those are the kind of songs that my oldies would love to listen. Sadly I never heard of them, but the vibe of their song is really lively. Like when you heard it, you'll surely groove with the song. As of typing this my head is also dancing with the music. Haha. Even though I can't understand the lyrics 😆. And their voice is really good too ha.

What an envy, my friend! Did you really get to see them live? How wonderful! Desorden Público represent a Venezuela as light, reactionary and fresh as Ska. Thanks for this post, best regards

We didn't plan it but this friend who invited us was given tickets to the concert as he worked with them a few years ago in a documentary.
It was a lot of fun to see them perform live, back in memory lane, hehe. Saludos!

Hi 👋🏾. I'd never heard that music before, but I really enjoyed discovering it thanks to this post. It's so exciting to see a live performance of the music we love and that represents us.
