Hello, Hivers and music lovers!

Tuesdays are for sharing some music on Hive, and I seem to have forgotten that in the last few weeks, but it's time to remedy that and get back to it this week with the #threetunetuesday initiated by @ablaze, which let us discover new tunes and songs, listening to all-time hits, or traveling back in time to listen to some oldies.

And I love oldies songs. And today, I am going to share three versions of the same oldie song. It is a bolero, a popular musical genre in Spanish-speaking countries. The song I have chosen is very popular and has been covered many times. It was composed in the 1930s by a Mexican singer and pianist named Consuelo Velázquez. The song is called Bésame Mucho.

But before I get into the tunes, let me give you a little background for those of you who aren't familiar with #threetunetuesday. In the words of @ablaze, who started the initiative.

The jist is as follows
Every Tuesday I'm going to share 3 songs which I like to listen to and I invite your feedback in the comments below. Better still, why not have a blast of your own Three Tune Tuesday and mention me in the post and I'll come and find the post and upvote it. If you could also use #ttt or #threetunetuesday tags that would be great. It'll be a sweet way for us all to discover new music. You'll also be in with a chance of winning the prize - more on that later.

You can find out more at ablaze's post for this Tuesday with his recommendations for this week the #97.

So without further ado, let's go with the tunes for today.

Tune 1 - The Beatles - Besame Mucho

This first song is the one that inspired me to write the post. A few days ago, I ended up listening to it. I don't even remember why.

The cover of Besame Mucho by The Beatles in the voice of Paul Mccartney. This song was recorded in 1969. It appears for the first time in the documentary Let It Be, released in 1970.

Tune 2 - Tatiana Eva-Marie & Avalon Jazz Band - Bésame Mucho

I recently discovered this version in French by the Swiss-born, US-based singer Tatiana Eva-Marie and the Avalon Jazz Band.

Tune 3 - Zoé - Bésame Mucho

The third version of Bésame Mucho that I share today is performed by the Mexican rock band Zoé, formed in the 90s but is still performing.

I love this cover of the song, which is not the typical bolero version.

Bonus track - the original version - Consuelo Velázquez - Bésame Mucho

And I could not miss sharing the version of the Mexican singer and songwriter Consuelo Velazquez, who was the compositor of the song.

Thank you very much for reading!

Enjoy the music, and enjoy life!

This is pretty damn cool. It’s funny because I’ve only heard the song sung by Dean Martin and some of the other guys of the Rat Pack so I thought it was a song by them! Good to understand the origins now! I’ll give these a listen for sure, though I’m not a fan of the Beatles :D

Yes, the song is Mexican and is one of the most popular boleros. I love The Beatles version though, and the song has been covered a lot. There are many very well-known versions, more than the ones I am sharing here, but I like these a lot. I hope you'll enjoy them.

I liked the jazz one the best! The original was good but because I have been tainted by the other ones I didn’t enjoy it like I could have lol

Hehe, well that one I discovered recently and I like it much. But the original one is really a classic in Spanish.
Thank you for coming back to give your opinion :)

Hahah yeah I don’t know exactly why but I’m not a fan of their sound. The only song I like is strawberry fields forever.

Thanks for adding the bonus track. From my point of view, Consuelo Velázquez did it right. To me the covers don't have the same feeling that she has... that "Bésame mucho". Also every word is clear. I'm not really a Spanish speaking, but I can hear the words in this song and follow.

That original version is wonderful, and not in vain the song has become one of the classics of romantic music in Spanish. And you are right, the diction of the lyrics when she sings is so clear and easy to follow.

Wow a Beatles song I liked! Probably coz there was no Lennon singing.
I like the voice of Tatiana and the band, gotta love a double bass.
The Mexicans now that was totally different and I like that too, probably the best of the three Super Eli!
Pero the original wons for me, so clear you can understand everything she sings and I like the accompanying music!
A winner Super Eli!

Yep, the original version is a winner and a classic of romantic music in Spanish:) But I also love Zoe's version, is different but really nice.

Have a magic Thursday when you wake up, Super Ed

You are naughty Super Eli.
Yesterday I meant to say I got Alexa to play Besame Mucho and this was the first she did play.

I am up now, but might nap later depending on weather..

I love his voice and there are lots of artists who covered it, Pavarotti was another!

Really neat idea to share three covers of the same song! It was really fun listening to three different interpretations. The Tatiana Eva-Marie version was my favourite; I love string jazz.

Nice work, I really like the idea around various versions of the same song, it is cool to see people's versions and what they do with the original. I really liked the second one with the double bass and the gorgeous singing, although I must say that last version was right up there too and the singing was the best of the four, beautifully sang by Consuelo Velázquez, she really made it her own.
