Pange Lingua Gloriosi Corporis Mysterium | HOLY THURSDAY 2025

The hymn "Pange Lingua Gloriosi Corporis Mysterium," composed by St. Thomas Aquinas for Corpus Christi, is sung during Holy Thursday processions because it celebrates the Eucharist, which was instituted at the Last Supper. As the Blessed Sacrament is carried to the Altar of Repose, the final two verses, known separately as "Tantum Ergo", are sung specifically when reaching the destination. These verses focus on adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and mark the transition from procession to prayer.

Recorded live at Holy Thursday Mass 2025 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Albury. Many thanks to Andrew Flores and Benedict Wilson for their wonderful singing.
