Organ Voluntary on Woodlands (Tell out my Soul) - Simon Peberdy

"Tell out my Soul" has always been a popular hymn (a paraphrase of the magnificat) to the marvellous tune Woodlands, written by Walter Greatorex. Simon Peberdy has written a fantastic voluntary based on this melody which is very suitable for the 4th Sunday of Advent. It expresses Mary’s joyful expectation of Christ, mirrors the season’s themes of hope and anticipation, and provides uplifting yet liturgically appropriate music without slipping into Christmas repertoire.
