DIALOGUE (Pièces en G. Ré Sol mineur) - Jean-François Dandrieu

Jean-François Dandrieu (1682–1738) was an eminent French Baroque composer and organist, known for his profound contributions to the development of organ and harpsichord music in France. Holding prominent positions at Paris' Saint-Merry church and the Royal Chapel at Versailles, Dandrieu's vast body of work, including his compositions for organ and harpsichord, served as a cornerstone for the French Baroque music.

Dandrieu's "Pièces d'orgue" can be seen as a prime example of the French organ Mass tradition. The pieces were based on Gregorian chant melodies, which are performed at specific points during the Mass. The pieces are grouped into suites according to the eight church modes. I particularly love a loud and fiery piece, so I chose to upload this short Dialogue for you to enjoy.
