In my little experience and study about the music industry, I will say my eyes have witness a lot of things. I have seen singers blow with just a song and reach the high step and I have actually seen singers who were not able to attain the great height probably due to extreme competition in their genre. I have also seen a lot of powerful talented singers who didn't make it to the top probably due to their reckless lifestyle. Some it is due to record label issues which I actually discussed in my post last time.
It makes me to sit down and try to answer the questions deep within me and that is why do the music careers of musicians Crashed. They are popular and suddenly we can't hear them again. In fact, some are still producing music but just that it is not making that wave as it uses to be again. What might have been wrong. Everyone always see the music industry as a world that offer you so much fame and wealth. This is absolutely true but most of the time, many of us did not know the true reality beneath it.
In my little observation and study, I have come to discover that why a lot of musicians Crashed is because there is no proper financial management. Trust me, if you happen to hit the spotlight in the music industry, it comes with so much financial gains that if you are not careful and you did not have extreme financial discipline, it might leads you to spend it extravagantly, invest poorly and crashed your financial life. A lot of singers who are once popular and rich are in massive debt today and that is because they were not able to spend wisely.
Not only that factor, I have also come to discover that why the careers of some top musicians we adore today crashed is because they are not able to handle the technology Advancements and music trends that keeps coming. Whether you like it or not, the music industry keeps evolving as day goes by because we keep having new generations who want to hear new things. The generation of Michael Jackson is quite different from the generation of Davido. As a musician, if you are not able to adapt to music trend effectively, you might blow out.
Then of course I can't deny the fact that personal lifestyle can be a major cause of their careers. Some of them it might be because they lost a dear one, might be because of bad habits like excessive smoking, drinking and clubbing. Some it might be because their marriage crashed and some mihtbbeven be because of their health issue. All these factors sometimes also cause to affect the level of their professionalism and their public image. As a top musician, you need to understand that anything that will tamper your public image has already affected your career.
In among all the factors, if properly paid attention to and dealt with in a wise way, it can really help to overcome those issues and helps to give you a very positive career. You can be relevant for years and your career will not crash and that is why it is advisable that you should always have a good management that will not only help to manage your musical activities but generally manage your decisions and lifestyle choices because they can go a long way to affect you positively or negatively.
Your thinking is largely correct ... the system is designed to put people in debt through advances, and then when they spend it all, they then have to work to pay off that debt to the companies ... debt slavery in disguise, because it forces the artists to work to pay the debt, not work as they are inspired, and that generally leads to their decline internally as well as externally.
