Why Competition in the Music Industry Is a Good One for Musicians

The music industry is getting tougher and tougher as day goes by because it looks like there is a growing number of musicians in the music industry. For some people, they always view the competition as a negative thing in the music industry because it is mostly misinterpreted it as a strong battle between fame, between chase for success and generally visibility. But personally, I strongly believe that competition is good for musicians in the music industry.

When there is actually healthy competition, it has a way of pushing people to become more better daily, because you know that you are not the only one in the game. I strongly believe that soemtimes when people feel like they are the only one that can do something, it makes them less challenging and makes them so comfortable that they relax in the comfort zone. But when there is an healthy competition in the music industry, everyone will be striving to become better and better as day goes by.

Not only that, just as football where competition makes some people to become better because they will strive to improve, same thing for the music industry. I personally believe that in the music industry, when one is doing better, it pushes other one to do better. How is it going to do that, it will definitely foster what I call innovation. As a musician, you are constantly thinking how you can be innovative to make your game much more better than the others.

You have that mindset that the audience are not fixed to your own style of music alone. One thing I have come to discover about the music industry is another fresh or new musician can steal your audience if you are not careful. You nuts know how to play your game and play it accurately. You will be loaded with lots of creativity to keep producing original and captivating music because you don't want to be stagnant or to be outgrown.

Apart from that, with accurate competition, you are so sure that there will be more visibility and opportunities in the music industry. Why do I say so? You will have to know that there will be more fans that will be engaging with your music, there will be more artists, more record labels and generally more competitive environment actually. This will help increase choice to be made among the fans and so for you to stand out, you will need to be the best.

For me personally, I strongly believe every musician needs competitions to thrive and get to that top whether we like it or not, I strongly believe so. If you don't have someone you are aiming to get to that level, you might not get to the best of yourself. That's just the truth. The more we have competition in the music industry, the better it will definitely be for us. Instead of us seeing competition as a negative thing, we should see it as a very positive thing that can change the career as musicians.

I consider it to be all about growth. The industry keep growing, if an artist refuses to grow with the trend, they are left behind the trend. Thank you so much @consistency for sharing this with us
