The Role of Artificial Intelligence in the Music Industry
The digital world is fast developing and growing at a very rapid rate. There are something's that our present world is actually witnessing which if you should have tell me many years ago, I will have actually deny it. So many transformations have happened and one of the major factors that have driven the transformation is the artificial intelligence. The introduction or development or artificial intelligence have been able to give rapid rise to develop in several industries all across the world and the music industry is not left out.
AI have played a significant role in redefining how we see the music world and how it is actually been made. In fact, it has been integrated in virtually every part of the music industry. Take for example when it comes to music creation and composition, you will see that we now have AI applications and tools that helps to make music at a very better convenient much more than how we always view it many years ago. Tools like Amper music and even the AIVA have helped in music creation in all genre of music.
Apart from the aspect of music creation, we even have AI tools that helped to create music production. With AI, activities like balancing the sound levels, the audio quality and even many more can be automated through the use of AI softwares like LANDR. Apart from the fact that those software will save time of course, they make more high quality production which some producers might not be able to achieve by themselves or manually..
Even down to the marketing structure, we make use of AI to help in advertising the work that the artiste are actually doing. With AI who worked most especially on data analysis, you are so sure that you can create multiple platforms and even track the performance of your music among the other songs that will be streamlined to know where and when to improve your music quality for better sales and recommendations. If you are a musician, you will agree with me that it is a massive development to the music industry because most of the time, the main issue that artiste face sometimes is not even creating music but the issue is those music they created to reach the target audience.
And guess what, I am so sure that in the next years to come, it will get better and better. Even though we might be facing issues currently now in the music industry even with AI. Issues like copyright and music theft. I believe it is just a matter of time before they are solved. Artificial intelligence is the future and seeing it incorporated in the music industry gives me these assurance that in years to come, it will just get better and better for the music industry. I strongly believe so and that is why it is recommended that every artiste should learn to make use of AI tools in their music careers in order not to fizzle out.
Ai has interestingly become useful in all sectors, this is getting more interesting.
Absolutely true
Don't you think an artist can do this without AI? What do you think of artists who use ghost producers? plenty of them around, including big ass names in eg the electronic dance segment.
That's true sha but to make work faster, some artiste are making use of AI to make it faster.
I guess why many people use those ghost producers is they don't want to be attached to a particular producer by people
Well people with their different reasons for doing things though
I realise why artists use AI and ghost producers, in the electronic segment, most of those cannot create the music themselves. My question was more along the lines of: When artists is not able to create their own music through instruments and drum computers (hardware/software), can they be called artists? I know, even using a drum computer and synthesizer one can argue that someone is an artist (eg tons of classical instrumentalists shit on electronic producers). If someone who uses AI in whatever way or form, producing music, is called an artist, soon-ish 8 Billions people in the world can be called artists. I guess when that happens, we need to redefine what an artist is for artists who go the extra mile to be recognised as such.
Absolutely true. I think they can still be called an artist to an extent
The main issue is our society has given a new definition of what an artist should actually be
Most big-name artists are more entertainers than artists, except a few. Ok ok, expect a bit more than a few, but still. Ok ok great entertainment can also be called a form of art 🎉🥳🎶
Yeah I think entertainment is an act of art nevertheless
I really wish the music industry witness some transformation as early as possible
AI is cool and all but an artist should not lose their originality to it.
Absolutely cool
