Movie Review: The Forge

I am a lover of Christian movies who always have a way of offering beyond the religion point of view but has a way of offering life value which one can apply. I have watch couple of them like War Room, Overcomer and many more. Recently I watched a movie which I want to share with you my own point of view and that is called "The Forge".

If there is something I really love about the movie, it is the way the storyline is been structured which I will be talking about today. The fact that the movie "The Forge" address the importance of Mentorship and accountability structure in ones live helps to offer life value that is easily applicable.

The movie sole actor was Cameroon Arnett who happens to be a businessman. But even with the success that was recorded in the business line by the man, Cameroon Arnett still have family related issue. There is no strong bond between his son and that constantly cause issue in his family. That particular issue reminds me of when I was still growing up. I always find it hard interacting with my father. In fact I will say all through when I was a kid, I never knew my dad and that constantly causes issues between us.

One of the strong message that the movie passed across most especially to me is the importance of Mentorship. Mentorship can really influence someone life positively and I will say that was the center theme of the message of that movie. The fact that irrespective of the background you came from, you can actually make the difference if you are exposed to the right guidance and tutorship.

Talking about the character display in the movie, I will say Cameron Arnett did a very great job in his role. He adds depth to his role and helps to demonstrate one of the main issue a lot of families are facing in our society, the absent of fatherhood in a home. Not only that, it helps to point out the importance of fatherhood and no matter the success you record either in your career or your business, if no success is recorded in your family, everything will still be a waste.

Also the role of the son Aspen Kennedy plays a perfect role. Whenever I look at Aspen in that movie, it reminds me the strong disadvantage it can cause to a teenager that lacks fatherhood in his upbringing. There will be so much frustration in that person live. Then the fact that his life changes when he met the right mentorship also gives a perfect transformation sending a strong message that irrespective of where you come from, you can rewrite your story.

I been a Nigerian and an African, I can strongly say that movie is relatable to our culture. Most of the time, when fathers are lacking in the upbringing of a child in our society, it affect the morals of that child because as a father, you are to instill discipline and courage to face life to a child while the mother is to give that sense of emotional connection that might be missing in the child.

I personally I see the movie Forge as just beyond a movie, it paases a strong message to our society and home that the role of fatherhood in a family and in the upbringing of a child should not be neglected. Not only that, it passes a strong message to everyone that irrespective of how your life can look, if you meet the right person in your life, there can be a positive change around. Truly the movie is powerful and I can recommend it to anyone daily.
