Can We Have Another Michael Jackson?
In my little experience witnessing the rise and fall of musical artist in the music industry, I have seen great artiste rise up who left their mark for their generation. Such as 2pac, Bob Marley, Fela Kuti, Micheal Jackson and many more. Even though there are new artists that have risen up, but it actually looks like no-one yet have still been able to meet the feets of those legends I mentioned.
Out of the lists I make mention of, there is one that till now, no one have been able to match his feet and that is Michael Jackson. For me personally, I believe that Michael Jackson should not only be categorised in the level of musicians, he was a musician but I believe he was more than that. He was a global icon that was widely celebrated like a God. Just as he was popularly called the king of pops as through his style of music, he was able to create a massive transformation in the popular music genre.
Hardly will you find anyone that will not know Michael Jackson. He has a career that till now, no musicians have been able to hit the feet. He breaks numerous records even in a generation when the media has not taken the world like it was right now. His strength of uniqueness was not necessary in his music but the way he dance. Trust me, that dance move which people called the breaking dance . That single breaking dance helps to give me so much likes within his fans and beyond. His stage performance was really mind blowing.
Even though we have a lot of artist take for example in nigeria that has risen up. We have the likes of WizKid, Davido, we have the likes of burna Boy and many more. All of these people I make mention of have been able create impact also in the music industry both in Nigeria and even beyond. But even with that, no one yet have been able to meet the feet of Michael Jackson.
Now back to the question asked in the title. Can we have another Michael Jackson in this world, well I will say yes. It is still possible for us to have someone that will dominate the stage performance and probably we can have a musician that will really be known for the breaking dance. But it might be difficult for the person to thrive right now because there is a greater and bigger competition in the music industry. During Micheal Jackson time, there was less competition and there was less social media pressure but not anymore now.
If we are definitely going to be having another Michael Jackson, then the person will definitely come with its own uniqueness in order to be able to stand out. Of course he or she can still have similarities with Michael Jackson but must highly be unique to stand out. It is very necessary actually and the earlier you understand this, the better it will certainly be for you.
