The Hive Learners creative Sunday Initiative: Waconzy's I Celebrate cover by coderaikiri

Good day everyone, welcome to another edition of Hive Learners Creative Sunday Initiative. I am coderaikiri and for my entry this wonderful Sunday, I'll be performing a cover to "I celebrate" by Waconzy- An artistic genius from a place where musicians hardly flourish, Porthacourt.
As a Gen-Z baby born in the late 90s, most of my taste in music resonates a lot with what millennials vibe to. My father loved reggae (especially works from lucky Dube), my elder sisters grooved to blues, hip pop and Afrobeats and the neighborhood just rocked with whatever was trending. This really shaped my perception of what good music sounds like and that was one of the reasons it got really difficult to actually like songs after 2019 especially in the afro best genre.
"I celebrate' is one of those songs that will always sound brand new no matter how many times it's kept on replay. The song talks about the success story of every average Nigerian born in "Have not" community and even though I haven't made it yet I still appreciate it because it talks about celebrating regardless of your financial status or the state of life entirely.
The song is a story about a young man who was born into the good life but lost it at some point and had to depend on his mom for everything even though his dad was alive. He had to struggle for every little thing until he saw results upgrading from that boy who had nothing into the man who is now a public figure as everybody seems to know him whenever he steps into the street.
My favorite verse on the song is where he says" I thank you father for yet another day, thank you for the price you dey pay, thank you for my pocket to dey swell everyday......".
Personally I believe if you listen to this song with an open heart, you'll discover it is something to motivate you to do better as it is clear evidence that if you keep on putting in work, you'll definitely get the results you are struggling for.
I hope y'all listen and enjoy this great song even though I feel I didn't do justice to it.
