Greetings my fellow hivers, welcome to another spectacular week on the hive open mic community. I still remain my humble self @coderaikiri and in response to the theme of the week Ring the bell, my entry will be the song*see you again by Charlie Puth.
The 26th of November 3 years ago happens to be one of the worst day of my life. I received a heart wrecking news in school that a very good friend of mine died that very morning. That news shock me to the core as this was something I tried to prevent. My friend Somadina was angry that his uncle kept holding him back with empty promises and has no plans of actually helping him. He made up his mind that was going to leave Niger state for Lagos that very year (2022) as there were tons of opportunities awaiting him away from the prying eyes of his uncle. I begged him not to leave as Lagos was a very difficult place to survive but he wouldn't listen. I also convinced my parents to beg him to stay, and that he could still make it here even if it meant leaving his uncle's place but his mind was already set on leaving.
He left for Lagos with a dream to prove to the world that he could make. This dream was cut short as 7 months later he slumped and died at the very place he was working. News of his death broke me and I kept blaming myself and his uncle for his untimely demise.
This song was a reflection of how I felt and it also happened to be his favorite song. Whenever I wanted to remember him, I just play this song and thing about the good times he made the boys laugh with his ridiculous comments. I know he's gone from this plane but he's soul will never be forgotten. Until we meet again brother. We still miss you
