Good day amazing people of hive block chain I welcome you all back to my blog am writing this content in respect to the ongoing content in #hivenaija community in collaboration with #afritune anniversary it is my pleasure participating in this content.

I will be writing about a cultural event i attend.

When it comes to cultural event African continent have many cultural event that you will not like to miss am proud that am from Africa if am to be reborn again i will pray that am born in Africa. African is a bless continent enrich with natural resources African is a good place for site seeing and their is many cultural event existing in Africa. Today i will be talking about a cultural event i attended am from Nigeria(a country know as the gaint of Africa) Nigeria have three major ethnic groups the Igbo, hausa and the Yoruba I am proudly an igbo girl. In Igbo we have many cultural events such as the new yam festival,the masquerade festival and age grade festival etc igbo land is full of so much cultural event i will be discussion about two major cultural event in igbo land

The new yam festival

The new yam festival is one of the popular cultural event in igbo land it marks the production of new yam
and a successful harvest the king and cabinet will fix a date the will eat the new yam nobody will eat yam until the king have eat and celebrate the new yam festival people will gather in the palace for the festival the king will cut the yam and eat it in the present of his people there will be many entertainment such dancing group, wrestling and masquerade display.back in olden days it is during this festival that men find their partner.

The masquerade festival

Masquerade ceremony is one of the cultural event in Igbo land people don't joke with masquerade the see masquerade as a superior being when masquerade appear in an event they are treated with respect the only people that join the masquerade group is the males and must be from the masquerade family masquerade is a means of entertainment to the community they dress in wonderful costumes the masquerade make sure that the traditional norms and values are protected masquerade are not orderly being like us. During the masquerade festival people come from far and near to be entertained by the masquerade. Masquerade appear during new yam festival and so important cultural event. Masquerade is pass from generation to generation people believe that masquerade is a dangerous be.

There are different type of masquerade

• Adamma
• Iga
• Mmanwu
• Ojionu

Culture the say can never die culture is the life of people.people so much value culture

Afican is highly bless continent we have many delicious meal.
