Echo, play I believe in you and me

I like to listen to music in the mornings.. scratch that.. anytime I am sitting at the my dining table eating. (and sometimes when I am just sitting there engrossed in the music..)

I've been holding off from getting Alexa or any of the voice activated assistants. I didn't think playing music was worth the cost since I don't want to hook it up to any home automation such as lights.

I was Christmas shopping on amazon right after thanksgiving last year, so things were on sale. The Echo Dot (Alexa) was going for just $30. For this price, I was willing to try it and see. I'm really glad I did.

(this model is so much nicer IMO compared to the first version which looked very cheap and plasticky)

Echo, play run to you

(I changed the activation name to 'echo'... it's easier to say that Alexa and sounds cooler to me!)

Echo will play the exact song you say most of the time, but about 10% of the time it will try and sell you membership to Amazon music. This is annoying, but I'm ok with it since it makes it free mostly. (I just say 'NO' each time, but if u want to never get these annoying messages and most likely get even better searching and playing of songs (like custom playlists) then its worth the $5/month)

Another thing that's really cool is how you can just tell echo to play a certain artist, or some movie soundtrack, or songs from west side story, or like that. I often will think of a particular song I want to hear, after listening to another song that is playing, since echo will always play (the song u request) and similar songs.. so you CAN just listen to whatever it plays if you don't want to name particular songs.

OK, how about 1 more song from the great Whitney Houston. This one really makes me feel better about my life when I am down..

One more fun, little thing that I didn't expect or know I would find so entertaining.. echo plays games..

Its a cool trivia game that even pits you against another live player for the honor of your state. :P My daughter even played another one..

echo, play would you rather

This one is a silly game. (think farts and other juvenile humor), but sounded real fun.

That's it for what I do with my echo. I know there is much more that can be done with it, but I have not the time nor desire for such things..
