Jazz time!
Hey there HIVE fam, I went to this awesome jazz concert last night.
It was great. The ticket money ALL went to this scholarship fund to help out a few deserving students. It was sold out.; about 300 seats. at $25 a ticket/.. not too shabby! I really liked the size of the venue..
They played about 7 songs, the after a 10 minute intermission,.. 6 more songs. There was 3 sax players, a trumpet player, a wonderful drummer on set as well as an acoustic bass (2 men played this_) and a guy on piano. Oh yeah, there was this really good lady who sang super good..
Here's a vid of the bassa Nova song.. apperantly, it was one of the first bassa Nova songs ever written..
it was great to see the teachers play. They were all good, of course. and to see so many sax players! :) I was so impressed they all not only were so good, they each played tenor sax and also alto and bari. (no soprano sax??) It reminded me of my college days when I played soprano sax in a jazz sax quartet.
I was also impressed by the stuff they had in that theater..
It was sure a great time had by all. I took note how many silver haired ppl there were watching / listening. I guess those are the ppl with the extra time and / or money. :P
Thank you for sharing that excellent excerpt from what is undoubtedly a masterful jazz concert. The performance of that seminal bossa nova piece, both in terms of the piano, double bass, and drums, is wonderful. Greetings, @chinito.
thank you! :)
It must have been a great experience. I love jazz. Greetings
