Maturity that comes with old age

Growing into an adult has always been one of the most anticipated incidence in human occurrence because we believed that the stage where we can take our decisions by ourselves have finally been attained.

I have always been that one person
who usually feel like I can do whatever I want without being questioned by anybody. I long waited for that day which I clocked 20years. An adult emerge at the age of 18years but we Africans always seem to be a child to our parents till the time when we can be left to stay alone

I could remember vividly when I took this picture in my secondary school,I kept watching it everyday and assuring myself that I will grow up one day to right the wrong of my entire community. Lol 🤣

In a situation where many thought run across our mind and we feel that people around us need to do better. Have you sat down to ask yourself,What if I grow tomorrow to understand why they are like this and also became worse?.

In our early stage of life where we were fed,Clothed and provided for,It is important to note that every other adult around aren't heroes,They are just like us trying every thing possible to appear good and comfortable with the environment they have got acquainted with.

There's this particular song that made me understand that my parents are the perfect beings I have come across although they have their shortcomings but I really admire their strength, Resilience and in time being the comfort which they give us the children.

In some chaotic families where the children grew up thinking they have the worst parents 😞. Ponder on what actually changed when you became an adult. Why did you join them or behave worse than them?. Could it be that you have seen exactly that which made them look cruel at your young age?.

We have lots of questions unanswered to why the life of an adult isn't same or close to what we experienced at early childhood stage.

Having listened to Older by Sasha Sloan ,I came to understand that life gets better while growing old. We have no excuse to why we can not do better because the life given to us by our parents while being with them has taught us ways to navigate each situation we find ourselves in.
