Teaching musical instruments while they were young.
Music is a window to our soul.
Bill Walton
Our youngest pianist someday
One of my dreams when I was young was to become a good musician or a world-known singer. As I grew up I was surrounded by my titas who had nice voices and sang in the choir.
I was once a University Chorus choir at the University of Cebu way back in college but for only a year. My father dies and I stop going to college to work.
I love to sing and play musical instruments but not given the chance to reach my dreams. I married a man who also knows music, so when God called us to the ministry, one of our goals was to teach kids music.
Ukulele players
It was not realized because of many priorities, but now we pursue it for the kids around our church.
We have musical instruments available in our church. We encourage our youth department to be part of the worship team. For now, we call all kids who want to learn to play music. We have two kids who responded to learning the ukulele and two kids on the piano
small fingers
First, we teach them basics, The ukulele was assisted by the Mary. She first taught them how to strum, up and down, down and up as we can see when somebody plays. For the whole session, it was their task to master simple strumming.
practice strumming
For the piano lesson we first teach them finger drills to reach the piano keys, then how to run your fingers through the keys. As they practice the finger drills you can see the smiles on their faces. The eagerness to learn wanting to learn more. Athena one of the kids wanted to learn more and asked for another task to be done. So I let her play her other hand and she is learning fast.
fast learner
The day ends on mastery. The ukulele players mastered their strumming and the piano players mastered their hand drills. It was a fulfilling task, teaching kids is easier to handle rather than teaching youths.
They are fast learners and the energy to practice more and more was like a fire burning.
Using other hand
I always believe that when a child wants to learn something, don't let it die, but instead give them your full support. Always believe in them and their capacity to learn something for themselves. Help them develop their passion while still young.
It's amazing that even though I didn't become a famous singer or musician, I can fulfill my dream of teaching the younger generation about music. It's truly a great way to share my passion and help inspire kids to pursue their interests and develop their musical skills. Who knows maybe one of them will become a renowned musician in the future.
That would be all for today I hope you enjoy reading my blog.
Thank you for the time reading, have a wonderful weekend.
Note: all pictures were allowed to be posted by the kids' parents.
good job keep going👏👏👏
Thank you
Felicitaciones y bendiciones a ambos.
Bless your heart, thank you for taking the time to read.
