The first time I was asked to backup on stage

It's another beautiful Thursday, good day friends and people of the throw back community, it's yet another time to throw back out memories to exciting times we've experienced. I've always believed that despite the fact that memories can bring excitement or sadness, it plays a very important role in helping us grow, just like people always say "experience is the best teacher".

Two years back, we had a music festival in my church, it was actually the first I experienced because it took a very long time before we experienced advanced music, the previous music leaders were not advanced and were also not ready to advance in music, it was until another badge of leaders came unboard. The music festival was really one to remember of, there were different presentation from different churches, I and a crew were asked to represent our church, too bad I couldn't get that particular video where I sang with my crew, I only got the video of me backing up the lead vocalist with two other persons.

I wasn't asked to prepare for the backup, it was sudden to me, I was a bit frightened. I only use to get frightened when I really am not prepared for whatever I'm asked to do expecially singing, and also when I'm just a baby learner. Aa at that time I barely knew how to remain in one key for a long time and that was my fear, I didn't want to disgrace myself in front of the crowd but thank God I did well.

But right now, I guess I've mastered how to remain in one key for a long time, I realized it's just to focus with both your mind and your ears. I use to be scared of making mistakes when singing back then but now I know that being scared will only make me make more mistakes. I've learnt how to divert from mistakes without people knowing, at the process of making a mistake maybe going off key, if you're can use vocal dynamics to make it looyaa if you were planning with the song, the audience won't understand that you almost made a mistake. The thing is nobody as above mistakes but our ability to control it makes us special.
