READY TO BE by Twice | Musical Review
Hello my friends of music and hive in general, I wish you readers a beautiful start of the week.
Today I come very happy because I'm going to tell you about one of my favorite releases so far this year, that's right, I will review the new mini album of twice which is entitled Ready To Be and has a duration of 20 min 24 s.
Ready to be is twice's 12th album and it was released on March 10 this year, however I had not reviewed it before because I wanted to give myself the time to listen better to each of the songs to form a solid opinion, because something that usually happens to me is that my opinion can change regarding the songs as I listen to them. That is to say, sometimes I listen to a song for the first time and I don't like it, but after listening 2 or more times I end up liking it and the same thing can happen to me but the other way around.
The album has a total of 7 songs: Moonlight Sunrise which was the pre-release, Set me Free which is the main single, 4 bsides and the English version of Set me free. In this review I will give my honest opinion about each song and try to be as objective as possible by telling you about my experience.
sourceMOONLIGHT SUNRISE
With this song the girls presented the album on January 20th of this year. It is a song completely in English and one of my favorites.
From the first moment I heard it I connected with this song, it is something different that I had not seen in twice, a concept that they do not usually handle, a little darker and more serious than what I have heard before.
I interpret the lyrics as that feeling we have when we like someone and we know that person likes us too and want to get to the point but without rushing things.
The music video is too cute and I feel it lives up to the music, listening to the song while listening to the video I consider it an otherworldly experience.
And something I love about this song is that they decided to highlight this time the bass of the girls, because even though the chorus is high pitched, the verses are sung with a lower register as well as the rap which this time was sung by Chaeyoung.
SET ME FREE
This is the lead single of this album, unlike the pre-release this song has parts in English and also in Korean. The concept is similar to moonlight sunrise and it is obvious since they belong to the same album.
The song talks about the stage of falling in love in which we do not care about anything as long as we are with our loved one, no matter what others say we will be together and talks about that love that makes us want to risk everything.
This song touches my soul from the moment I hear it and this is something personal because, when I listen to it, I get very emotional and I love it. Most probably it doesn't happen to you but I love listening to this song to get my adrenaline pumping.
This time we could listen to three of the members rapping and not only Chaeyoung, we also listened to Dahyun and Momo and I must say that they did it very well.

And as the first b-side they show us the song titled got the thrills, which in my opinion is a bad choice to start showing the b-sides and I say this because it is a very generic song and you can feel the contrast of going from such good songs as Moonlight Sunrise and Set me Free to a generic song that feels empty.
The lyrics talk about love and having strong feelings and rocking out with the person we like. I don't have much to add, it's actually my least favorite song on the album.

With this song the thing gets a little more interesting, it was the song that made me interested in the album again, I feel that it is like a rock and I say this because of the guitar that is heard in the instrumental, the pre-chorus prepares you quite well for a chorus that is divided into two parts, the first part calmer and the second part that seems like a TV commercial and I don't say that as something bad, actually it does seem commercial, but I liked it.
It's not my favorite either, but I think it's better than got the thrills, I feel it's fresher and a little less generic even though there are parts that seem like commercials.

This song is my favorite bside of the album and in my opinion it's the best, it's not so loaded, it feels fresh, it's something simple, but for the same reason it feels pretty good, like a breath.
The lyrics are not great poetry according to me, it also talks about love, stop being shy and dance, the name comes from a flower which I find beautiful.
The part that comes after the chorus is my favorite part, it is sung by the members of the group Sana, tzuyu and Jeogyeon and also the song has a rap, which the first time I heard it seemed a little out of place, and is that in kpop often tend to put in the songs raps that are unnecessary just because. Also what happens is that there are members of the group that have the role of rappers, and that's why they put raps, even though they have already demonstrated their potential to sing as well.
SourceCRAZY STUPID LOVE
It starts with a guitar and from there I know I'm going to like it, since I heard it I liked it a lot but when I read the lyrics I loved it even more because I felt identified, since it talks about a toxic relationship in which people have differences and even though they love each other you can tell that there is no future in that relationship.
I can't explain the lyrics, but look it up and you will know better what I am talking about.
Also when I found out that it was written by one of the members of Twice I liked it more, I like it when they give them that freedom and give us beautiful lyrics and it feels less generic. The lyrics were written by Dahyun, one of the members designated as a rapper and who has also written several of Twice's songs.
It's a pretty good song and accompanied by Jihyo and Nayeon's vocal it feels even better.
sourceThe last song on the album is the English version of Set me free, and I will not review it because I already did, but I will give my opinion of when they release several versions of a song. I honestly don't like it, why release it in several languages, I honestly don't understand it and I personally only listen to the original.
Besides this created confusion among the fans because they didn't know which one was the official one.
CONCLUSION
The singles on this album are too good, I love them, both moonlight sunrise and set me free, they excite me, they transmit energy and emotion. However, I feel that some of the b-sides were made to get out of the way, I don't feel that they have worked deeply on them and that they were just put out to market and from there it comes out that they are generic.
It's not my favorite album of twice, however it left us with several good songs.

Hola mis amigos de music y de hive en general, les deseo a ustedes lectores un hermoso inicio de semana.
Hoy vengo muy feliz porque les voy a hablar de uno de mis lanzamientos favoritos de lo que va del año, así es, haré una reseña del nuevo mini álbum de twice que se titula Ready To Be y tiene una duración de 20 min 24 s.
Ready to be es el álbum número 12 de twice y se publicó el 10 de marzo de este año, sin embargo no le había reseña anteriormente porque quería darme el tiempo de escuchar mejor cada una de las canciones para formar una opinión sólida, porque algo que a mi me suele pasar es que mi opinión puede cambiar con respecto a las canciones a medida que las vaya escuchando. Es decir, a veces escucho una canción por primera vez y no me gusta, pero luego de escuchar 2 o más veces me termina gustando y así mismo me puede pasar pero al contrario.
El álbum cuenta con un total de 7 canciones: Moonlight Sunrise que fue el pre-lanzamiento, Set me Free que es el sencillo principal, 4 bsides y la versión en inglés de Set me free. En esta reseña diré mi sincera opinión sobre cada canción y trataré de ser lo más objetivo posible hablándoles sobre mi experiencia.

Con esta canción las chicas presentaron el álbum el día 20 de enero de este año. Es una canción completamente en inglés y una de mis favoritas.
Desde el primer momento que la escuché conecté con esta canción, es algo distinto que no había visto en twice, un concepto que no suelen manejar, un poco más oscuro y serio de lo que he escuchado anteriormente.
Yo interpreto la letra como aquel sentimiento que tenemos cuando nos gusta alguien y sabemos que también le gustamos a esa persona y querer ir al grano pero sin apresurar las cosas.
El vídeo musical es demasiado bonito y siento que le hace honor a la música, escuchar la canción mientras se escucha el vídeo considero que es una experiencia de otro mundo.
Y algo que me encanta de esta canción es que decidieron destacar esta vez los graves de las chicas, porque a pesar de que el coro es agudo, las estrofas están cantadas con un registro más grave al igual que el rap que en esta ocasión fue cantado por Chaeyoung.
SET ME FREE
Este es el single líder de este álbum, a diferencia del pre-lanzamiento esta canción tiene partes en inglés y también en coreano. El concepto es parecido al de moonlight sunrise y es obvio ya que pertenecen al mismo álbum.
La canción habla de la etapa del enamoramiento en la que no nos importa nada con tal de estar con nuestra persona amada, sin importar lo que digan los demás estaremos juntos y habla de aquel amor que nos hace querer arriesgarlo todo.
Esta canción me prende el alma desde que la escucho y ya esto es algo es algo personal pues, al escucharla me emociono mucho y me encanta. Lo más probable es que a ustedes no les pase pero a mi me encanta escuchar esta canción para subir mi adrenalina.
En esta ocasión pudimos escuchar a tres de las integrantes rapeando y no solo a Chaeyoung, escuchamos también a Dahyun y a Momo y debo decir que lo hicieron muy bien.

Y como primer b-side nos muestran la canción titulada got the thrills, que a mi parecer es una mala elección para empezar a mostrar los b-side y esto lo digo porque es una canción muy genérica y se siente mucho el contraste de pasar de unas canciones tan buenas como Moonlight Sunrise y Set me Free a pasar a una canción genérica y que se siente vacía.
La letra habla de amor y de tener sentimientos fuertes y roquear con la persona que nos gusta. No tengo mucho que agregar, en realidad es mi canción menos favorita del álbum.

Con esta canción la cose se pone un poco más interesante, fue la canción que hizo que me interesara en el álbum de nuevo, siento que es como un rock y esto lo digo por la guitarra que se escucha en el instrumental, el pre-coro te prepara bastante bien para un coro que se divide en dos partes, la primera parte más calmada y la segunda que parece de propaganda de televisión y no lo digo como algo malo, en realidad si parece de comercial, pero si me gustó.
Tampoco es mi favorita, pero si me parece que es mejor que got the thrills, la siento más fresca y un poco menos genérica a pesar de que hay partes que parecen de comercial.

Esta canción es mi b-side favorito del álbum y en mi opinión es la mejor, no está tan cargada, se siente fresca, es algo simple, pero por lo mismo se siente bastante bien, como un respiro.
La letra no es gran poesía según yo, también habla de amor, de dejar de ser tímidos y de bailar, el nombre viene de una flor lo cual me parece hermoso.
La parte que viene después del coro es mi parte favorita, es cantada por las integrantes del grupo Sana, tzuyu y Jeogyeon y también la canción tiene un rap, que la primera vez que lo escuché me pareció un poco fuera de lugar, y es que en el kpop muchas veces tienden a meter en la canciones raps que son innecesarios solo porque si. También lo que pasa es que hay integrantes del grupo que tienen el papel de raperas, y por eso ponen raps, aunque ya anteriormente ellas hayan demostrado su potencial para cantar también.

Empieza con una guitarra y desde ahí se que me va a gustar, desde que la escuché me gustó mucho pero al leer la letra me encantó mucho más porque me sentí identificado, ya que habla de una relación tóxica en la que las personas tienen diferencias y por más que se quieren se nota que no hay futuro en esa relación.
No les puedo explicar la letra, sin embargo búsquenla y sabrán mejor de que les estoy hablando.
También cuando me enteré de que fue escrita por una de las integrantes de Twice me gustó más, me gusta cuando les dan esa libertad y nos entregan letras preciosas y se siente menos genérico. La letra fue escrita por Dahyun, una de las miembros designadas como rapera y que también ha escrito varias de las canciones de twice.
Es una canción bastante buena y acompañada del vocal de Jihyo y Nayeon se siente mucho mejor.
FuenteLa ultima canción del album es la versión en inglés de Set me free, y no le haré una reseña porque ya lo hice, pero si daré mi opinión de cuando le sacan varias versiones a una canción. Sinceramente no me gusta, para que sacarla en varias idiomas, sinceramente no lo entiendo y yo personalmente solo escucho la original.
Además de que esto formó una confusión entre los fans ya que no sabían cual era la oficial.
CONCLUSIÓN
Los sencillos de este álbum son demasiado buenos, me encantan, tanto moonlight sunrise como set me free, me emocionan, me transmiten energía y emoción. Sin embargo siento varios de los b-sides hechos como por salir del paso, no siento que hayan trabajado profundamente en ellos y que solos los sacaron para comercializar y de ahí sale que son genéricas.
No es mi álbum favorito de twice, sin embargo nos dejó varias canciones buenas.
