IN THE SPIRIT OF THE HOLIDAY || THE ONE CLASSIC SONG

Songs do so much for me. Just like fragrances, they can switch up my mood and remind me of a time in my life. There's a song for every season and for every feeling. And one of the things that make the Christmas season even more joyful are the songs.

These days, compared to when I was much younger, I don't get to hear those seasonal songs often. Asides this public advert by the brand, Globacom, that runs on TV which always has me stopping whatever I may be doing or stopping in my tracks and having me glued to my screen, singing along, enjoying the artistes dance, while I grin from ear to ear, there's not any Christmas song else which I think I have heard. Maybe everyone is waiting to play and sing them on the D-days, I know not. We don't have any discs but I already downloaded my selected few. I want to enjoy them in their time.

Back then, our addiction, which I believe was most popular, was(still seems to be) Bonny M's Christmas album. Everyone stopped to listen. From it, the one that most definitely always got my attention and had me shaking my body to it's rhythm was Feliz Navidad. Gosh! That song is lush, rich and everything festivity.

The lines "I wanna wish you a merry Christmas from the bottom of my heart" always put a smile on my face and made me demonstrate like a little girl. For real. That line, especially, is just very catchy, so much that everyone can sing along. The message from it clear and feelings are easily expressed. That means, no need to bother about what felicitations to offer. It embodies totally both the season's language.

There has been quite some appearance of new holiday songs but those from my childhood, which by my research were released in the 90s(this revelation came as a surprise aa I hadn't expected they were from long ago), years before I was born, have far more the effect and always gain more traction, as well as have stayed through the years, sounding new and better with every year. Juat like old wine.

I should say that, one of my best hymns as a kid was, "O come all ye faithful," and it was only today that I learned and realized that it's a song for the season too. How I enjoy that song, yet, compared to this and a host of others, Feliz Navidad is a more lovely, danceable song. Wherever, whenever, it easily would capture the interest and reawaken and liven up the spirit of the season in the vast majority. There's no Christmas playlist without it, I noticed too.

See, it might be a little difficult for me to expressly tell just just what and how this song means to me and largely the rest of us. Frankly, every holiday song is a hit but this one is were my heart beats faster. Eissh! I should go liaten to it again.
