Llevar una melodía a alguien como muestra de cariño ha sido una tradición, es la llamada serenata, muy común en las películas mexicanas donde, con frecuencia, al final sale una mujer malencarada con una palangana de agua, cuando no de otra cosa peor y se las arroja al o a los cantantes.

Llevar una serenata suele ser complicado, primero hay que conseguir a los músicos, incluyendo al cantante, en el caso de que quien ofrece la serenata no sepa cantar.

Mi hijo y su esposa tienen un grupo musical de mariachis y con frecuencia les son requeridos sus servicios, muchas veces para quinceañeras, aniversarios o cumpleaños en general; pero otras para pedir reconciliación, con la parte amarga de que muchas veces la mujer no acepta y el contratante se retira apesadumbrado, lo cual resulta incómodo para los músicos que han interpretado sus mejores canciones. Otras veces el resultado es el esperado y la alegría por una pareja que se arregla es contagiosa.

Solamente una vez, (como la canción), recibí una serenata. Estaba amaneciendo, supongo ahora que en cosas de tragos a esta persona se le metió esa idea en la cabeza. Fue una sorpresa y un susto a la vez, ya que mi papá era muy estricto, me imaginé un conflicto mayúsculo con él, pero esa vez, algo raro, no se ofuzcó.

La canción decía: «todos dicen que es mentira que te quiero, porque nunca me habían visto enamorado». El susto que me provocó le quitó toda gracia a la serenata, además de lo mal interpretada que no quedó ni para recuerdo.

Al llegar a este punto aún no tengo claro a quien dedicar esta serenata, pero sí tengo una lista de las canciones de las cuales podría elegir y seleccionar una.

Yo canto una sola canción, que me aprendí la letra hace muchos años, y mi hijo, y ahora uno de mis nietos me acompañan y la entono, pero no me atrevo a hacer un vídeo, aún no incursiono en este tipo de asunto.

¡Listo! Mis hijos mariachis cumplieron ayer veintidos años de prometerse amor eterno. Lo celebraron entre ellos, con sus tres hijos, agradecidos de lo que han caminado juntos. Yo les envié por Whatsapp el Link de una canción de Charles Aznavour que me gusta mucho. Buen Aniversario. Pero esa no es la que les dedicaré en este post.

At this point I am still not sure who to dedicate this serenade to, but I do have a list of songs from which I could choose and select one.

I sing a single song, which I learned the lyrics many years ago, and my son, and now one of my grandchildren, accompany me and I sing it, but I do not dare to make a video, I have not yet ventured into this type of matter.
