It doesn't feel like time flies quickly and soon my family and I will welcome Chinese New Year here. We are native Indonesian citizens but we have Chinese blood from our ancestors, so we still celebrate Chinese New Year traditions to this day. Yes, actually the point is to strengthen relationships between extended family members who rarely see each other. The moment where we all wore red outfits and of course we couldn't miss sharing red packets.

Still in the atmosphere of welcoming Chinese New Year, I will carry a musical theme this time about Chinese music or Mandarin songs that are familiar and popular here in Indonesia that I have known, from old songs to new songs.

First of all, I will give an example of an old Mandarin song that was very popular at that time. I am very familiar with this song because when I was little I often heard it from my father and mother who often played it. I couldn't help but like it and to this day I still like it. Mandarin songs are famous for their lyrics that have deep meaning and the voice of Mandarin singers is also distinctive, clear and melodious.

One of the famous Mandarin singers in ancient times was Teresa Teng. Have any of you ever heard of that singer? The songs are also nice to listen to. Usually I often heard it when I was a little, I came along my parents to attend a relative's wedding.

Mandarin songs are also synonymous with being used as soundtracks for Chinese movies and have become popular and famous because of their beautiful music and the deep meaning of the songs. There is one popular song which became the soundtrack for the film The Myth. The film is also very good and it's a shame to miss it. The song Endless Love is also a duet with a Korean singer and is a combination of Mandarin and Korean. This movie starring a famous actor named Jackie Chan and the song is also sung by him in a duet with Kim Hee Seon. This song is a sad song so don't cry when you listen to it.

One song from the famous film soundtrack entitled Qing Fei De Yi by Harlem Yu, from the serial drama movie entitled Meteor Garden in 2000 which at that time was very trending in the Asian region. Who doesn't know Meteor Garden and F4? The story of the film series is also very good and very interesting to watch. Actually, this film was originally from a Japanese comic Hana Yori Dango, which was later adapted into a film. There are many versions of the Meteor Garden series, from Japan, China, Taiwan, Korea to Thailand, and even Indonesia has also made this film.

Sometime I will share about the Meteor Garden film because this is really good to share and it's a shame to miss it. So, the songs from this soundtrack are also popular and all the songs are nice to listen to. When I hear this song, I will definitely remember the film Meteor Garden.

There is also a new Meteor Garden in 2018 from China and the names of the characters are also the same as Meteor Garden from Taiwan. The songs from the film's soundtrack are also good. The music and tunes of Mandarin songs are indeed beautiful and pleasant to the ears. When we hear Mandarin songs, we will definitely be carried away and appreciate the lyrics.
